Meet the Author

Juan Carlos Mato Amaya nació en Zafra (Badajoz) en 1972. En 1987, obtiene el primer premio en el concurso Luis de Oteyza de relatos cortos por su primera obra literaria El largo sufrimiento de la vida. En 1999, publica una novela histórica, Sajra, y un estudio sobre la cuestión sucesoria de la España de 1700, Los destinos se abren el camino. Como dramaturgo, es autor de varias obras entre las que destacan Las memorias de Glauco, tragedia ubicada en la época del advenimiento de Augusto, El sueño efímero, un homenaje al cine negro, y Vespasiano, una mirada introspectiva sobre este emperador de la antigua Roma. Ha colaborado en diversas revistas y publicaciones de Extremadura, sobresaliendo sus artículos cinematográficos en la revista de cine Versión original, de Cáceres. También ha presentado programas radiofónicos dedicados al mundo del séptimo arte en Emisur, emisora municipal de Zafra, y en Cadena Ser.
