Carolyn – A retired middle school teacher, she enjoys the close relationship with her grandchildren that she never was able to cultivate with her own children. Carolyn is learning to smile again after the loss of her beloved husband.

Anna - Not blessed with children of her own, Anna is very close to several of her grand nieces and nephews. Never one to pass up a good deal, a good meal or a person in need, Anna is full of energy and wisdom.

Together, these very different women decide to reenergize their lives and enjoy every day of their journey. With humor, determination, wisdom and the occasional Yip Yip, they are off to see the world.

Meet the Author

Blessed to be born into a strong Irish American family, Sheila describes herself as 'one of ten'. Sheila raised her son, as well as a plethora of other children she calls her own, and now enjoys the title of Grandma.

When asked about her writing, Sheila states, 'I devoted the first phase of my life to my parents and family, the second to my children, this last phase is for me. I love to write, share my somewhat skewed vision of the world, and with luck, make people laugh now and then.'

I highly recommend this book, Las Vegas, written by Sheila Horgan! The story is a cozy type of novel and is both interesting and very readable. I find the main characters to be people, who if real, I would want to be friends with. Although these characters are introduced in Sheila's Tea series, you don't have to have read the series to enjoy this book, as the Barnes & Noble overview gives a good introduction to the characters. I very much enjoyed reading about the girls' adventures in Las Vegas and look forward to their next adventure! I also highly recommend reading the author's Tea series as well.
