A quick read about a sheriff that jumps to a conclusion and a private detective that looks for the truth.

This short story carries quite a punch emotionally. Having family members in law enforcement, this story really hits close to home. Not every author can deliver a character driven short story, but this seems to be Mr. Williams' niche in the writing world.

A good read but it could be longer agree it does seem unfinished

I hate most short stories because there's little time for plot or character development. I thought this would be better as it was 43 pages long. However it's only 15 pages so leaves much to be desired.

Not a terrible work but not a terrific one, either. Kind of pointless, really. There is no real characterization, storyline or action. On par with my son's easy readers, now that i think about it: There is a guy. He has a friend. They are police officers. They work hard. ?...wjj

A quick well edited read which ended at precisely the right time

Was expecting more, but was a good short story. Ended abruptly just as it was getting good.
