"Last Chance captures the essence of Southern charm and quirkiness. I'm totally captivated!" --- Sherryl Woods, New York Times bestselling author

After a painful divorce, Savannah White wants nothing more than to find her happy place. So when she gets the chance to pack up her life -and her son - and move to the idyllic town where she spent childhood summers, she jumps at the opportunity. Last Chance is just as charming as she remembered. She's even invited to join the local book club, where talk soon turns to Savannah's plan to bring the ramshackle downtown movie theater back to life. A new challenge is just what Savannah needs to move forward.. . .
Dash Randall wants to put his fortune to good use, but he remembers Savannah as the bratty "princess" who descended upon him each June, causing no end of trouble. But the teenager he remembered has grown into a gorgeous and generous woman, and it isn't long before Dash finds himself wanting to make brand new memories with Savannah. But first, Dash and Savannah will need to make peace with their pasts to find a new chance for love.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Still healing from a divorce and determined to keep her rebellious 12-year-old son, Todd, out of her elitist ex-mother-in-law's control, Savannah White leaves Baltimore and heads for her childhood summer sanctuary, Last Chance, SC, to stay with her recently widowed great-aunt and—maybe—restore the decrepit town movie theater she inherited. The last thing she needs is Dash Randall, former baseball pro, recovering alcoholic, and her childhood nemesis, interfering in her life or her son's. But Dash has changed, and as Savannah begins to appreciate the man he has become, the barriers between them start to fall with romantic results that neither sees coming. Pompous Biblical quotes and references to Pride and Prejudice add to the overall fun. VERDICT The ladies of the Last Chance Book Club keep the gossip flowing in this story graced with abundant Southern charm and quirky, caring people. Another welcome chapter to Ramsay's engaging, funny, hope-filled series. The discussion questions included will make this an appealing book club choice, as well. Ramsay (Last Chance Christmas) lives in Fairfax, VA.

Meet the Author

Hope Ramsay grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, but every summer Momma would pack her off under the care of Aunt Annie to go visiting with relatives in the midlands of South Carolina. Her extended family includes its share of colorful aunts and uncles, as well as cousins by the dozens, who provide the fodder for the characters you'll find in Last Chance, South Carolina. She's a two-time finalist in the Golden Heart and is married to a good ol' Georgia boy who resembles every single one of her heroes. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia, where you can often find her on the back deck, picking on her thirty-five-year-old Martin guitar.

I really enjoyed Last Chance Book Club. Hope Ramsay writes about people who have "normal" stuff happen in their lives. The quirky relatives that you love but sometimes embarass you - the high school hunk who grows up and learns a lot of lessons. Savannah and Dash have a lot to work through, but with the support of the small town of Last Chance, a lot can happen. It's so nice to read a good story where you really feel invested in the characters. It's like you're their neighbors. LOVE this series!

I love this book. I have belonged to a book club for over 20 years. This group of women have grown up together. From babies, through divorce, and even death. Woman friends are the best!

Reviewed by Kim for Read Your Writes Book Reviews While you don’t have to read the previous books in the Last Chance series, it helps to know who the characters are. In this installment, we get to dig a little deeper into just who Dash Randall is. I have to admit I was surprised by what I found. Dash Randall, the alcoholic of Last Chance, South Carolina is SO much more than he appears to be. Savannah White needs to get away. Away from her mother, ex-husband and ex-mother in law. What better place to go than Last Chance, South Carolina. Savannah and her son Todd move in with her Aunt Miriam, after the death of Miriam’s husband, Harry. She’s surprised to learn that her distant cousin and childhood tormentor Dash is also living there. To say that these two dislike each other is an understatement. Savannah’s grandfather left her The Kismet, an old dilapidated eyesore of a theater located in downtown Last Chance. Dash puts aside his dislike of Savannah and along with the town rallies around her to help restore the theater and her dream. Unfortunately, there’s something going on with the theater. It seems someone doesn’t want Savannah to realize her dream. Dash makes it his mission to get to the bottom of things. In the midst of working on the theater, Dash and Savannah each realize their attraction for the other. And when that attraction turns into love, it’s heartwarming. As with all of the other books in the series, Last Chance Book Club is full of characters that you will love. There’s also some little self help quotes to be found in the book. I love those.
