From Barnes & NobleMy first novel, The Last Dragonlord, is the answer to a question that had been bothering me for almost twenty years: who was the last man in a drawing I'd done in high school? I had a name and a story for all the other characters, but not him. All during that time I tried to put down the tales that I'd made up, but nothing worked. Nothing, that is, until I had a dream in late 1989 that gave me both my answer and the main character of The Last Dragonlord. The man was Linden Rathan, and a weredragon. It took five years before I was satisfied with the book and sent it out. Now I'm working on the sequel Dragon and Phoenix, which opens a few months after The Last Dragonlord ends. Since I work a regular job, I write when I can, but the end is in sight. Or so I keep telling myself; my characters are frequently headstrong and demand the story be told their way. Since they're usually right, I listen. It's worked so far.
