When Naomi comes back to town and wants to be friends with her high school sweetheart, Jake, things don't go as she planned. She tricks him into dates but after spending time together he realizes he can't keep denying his feelings. Even though they've both been hurt in the past they decide to try again. They have great chemistry and they are HOT together. I laughed out loud more than a few times and did I mention it's HOT?! You get to see some familiar characters from The Bridesmaid series and meet new characters (Yay! Mick) Jessie has an amazing way of describing scenes where you actually see and feel the flowers and the sun and taste the salted caramel cookies. "And now, with her laying beside him, her arms up over her hear and her eyes closed to soak in the warm rays, she looked good enough to eat. All he wanted to do was to cover her body with his own, let his lips play down her throat to the top of her sleeveless dress and use his teeth to tug away the thin fabric..." It's very well written and you instantly care about all of the characters from the very beginning. The secondary characters are so intriguing that I actually clapped when I saw the preview for the next book! Favorite line. "In black jeans, a white button-down, and gray V-neck sweater, Jake looked like he should be modeling business casual for Delicious Man-Meat Monthly."

I am a real fan of Jessie Evans. Having loved her 'Always A Bridesmaid' books, I was super-excited to read 'Melt With You' the first installment in her new 'Fire and Icing' series. Summerville, GA, is once again the setting for this story (I really like that there is character crossover between series), and Jessie does an excellent job of painting small-town life in such a way that you would gladly take up residence there. As well, the characters are always so easy to relate to, the kind of people that you can readily see yourself wishing you were related to, being friends with, and falling in love with. I found myself smiling during interactions between all of the characters, romantic or not, and just love that everyone has so much heart.

Naomi and Jake have both seen what it's like to go without. Can they get past the hurt of the past and go forward with life? Naomi certainly hopeful that they can, so isn't Jake all he asks is no lies and complete honesty. There is only one problem and Naomi decides to leave it in the past but will someone else. Jamison is Jakes brother and he holds the other half of a secret 15 years old can he keep his mouth shut or will he open his big mouth and spill the beans. Enjoy reading to find out

Sweet love story..... but seriously who would just walk away w/o at least looking for a $10,000 engagement ring? Even if she is richer than croccus? If he spent half of his savings he obviously is not rich and a little nookie does not equate to this kind of money... at least to any men l have met in my 60 some odd years.

Awesome book.....it makes me wish that Summerville was really a place to visit....lol I love Firefighters, I love Bakeries so i mean what more could i ask for. I am all about books like this that have second chance at love because they are the best and they are very believable. Also because its kind of like my real life :) minus the Firefighter and Bakery.......Jessie Evans has the best books around so i suggest you all buy this series.......Cant wait for the next book.

This is a great second chance romance! I was surprised to see that people thought the heroine was unlikable. I thought the hero was kind of a jerk, lol! But then he won me over in the end. Great reading showing that pain and the past can't stand in the way of true love.

Good read with a few steamy scenes. Not overly descrptive and does not overpower the story.

Naomi left the small town where she grew up in Georgia as soon as she finished high school and headed for Hollywood. Jake never got over her leaving him. Naomi had become a very sucessful celebrity chef with her own TV show and restaurants. With nothing left to prove, 15 years later she decided to move back home. One of the reasons was Jake. Jake had been hurt so badly by Naomi that he didn't want anything to do with her when she came back. Naomi knew she messed up when she left Jake as a teen and was sure he didn't want to see her now. He's a firefighter and they need a new station. In order to raise money for a new one they auction off dates with some of the guys. So Naomi goes to the auction and bid on Jake for the dates knowing it was the only way he would see her. This is a wonderfully written story set in a small town. Naomi left when she was young, expecting to find fame and fortune, which she did but even that didn't give her everything she wanted. I liked that even though she was very successful it was nice that she didn't flaunt it. Jake had moved on with his life but never got over Naomi and had a hard time forgiving her for leaving him. He wasn't happy that she was the woman who won dates with him in the auction. I highly recommend this romance, especially if you like firefighters.

I love Jake, the sexy hot fireman. This is such a sweet and intense second chance at love story. Naomi returns home and she has her work cut out to try and win him back. A lot of time has passed and they both moved on with their lives, Jake is a widower, and she lost her child. She comes back home and Jake is not too happy to see her. Will Jake and Naomi come out on the other side? Love Jake and Naomi! Last of the Red Hot Firefighters is the first in the Red Hot Reunions series and you get to see some of the characters from the Always A Bridesmaid series. I loved that we got to see them in here.

I must admit I have only read a couple of novels written by Jessie Evans, but I am always a sucker for a story about a firefighter. So when I read the synopsis for Melt with You, I just knew this was going to be a must read for me. The history between Jake and Naomi is strong going back to when they were teenagers and high school sweethearts. But when Naomi made the decision to leave their small town of Summerville, Georgia in search of a different life, she left Jake with a shattered heart. Now 15 years later tired of life in the public eye and the many failed relationships which have never fulfilled her longing for finding love, Naomi has come to the realization that what she left in Sommerville was the only man who ever completely loved her and the only one she has ever truly loved. But when she returns home with the deep hope and desire of repairing the broken heart she left behind, what she discovers is a man who has built up walls around his life limiting any access to his heart and refusing to let Naomi back in. Unwilling to accept defeat, Naomi takes matters into her own hands which ultimately forces Jake to look back at what they shared so long ago. Now as the light of a love from the past begins to illuminate Jake's soul, it opens him up to the possibility of a second chance. But now he must make the decision of whether he has the courage to again put his trust in the one woman who he has always loved, and the only one who could bring down the walls he has erected which could open them both up to the chance of a new life filled with love and happiness. Melt with You is an entrancing love story. I really loved Jake and Naomi and was immediately immersed into their lives and even now I continue to play their story in my head missing the time I have spent with them. The sparks of electricity emanating between them leapt from the pages of this book so much so that I didn't want to put my iPad down until I reached the end but at the same time not wanting it to be over. Despite the tenseness which exists between Jake and Naomi, you can feel the intensity and connection that they have always shared which reignites the passion between them. Jessie Evans has a magical way of writing and developing characters and a storyline that continues to keep me enthralled right through to the very last page making me feel as though I am part of their lives and pulling for them hoping they will have their happily ever after.
