A patrol of soldiers massacred...
A hidden gold shipment missing...
A priceless U.S. historical document stolen...
An undercover agent betrayed, and on the run...

For Union Army spy Grant Bonner, the war can't end soon enough. Tired of living a life of deception, he desperately wants to put his past behind him, but agrees to one last assignment.

The mission is compromised and Bonner is entangled in an intricate conspiracy. Ambushed and left for dead, he recovers only to learn his battle for survival and justice has just begun.

Accused of the cold-blooded killing of several fellow soldiers during a train robbery, he makes a daring escape and becomes the target of an unrelenting manhunt.

For some soldiers, the war isn't over, and won't end until Bonner makes his Last Stand at Bitter Creek.

Meet the Author

"It is never too late to be what you might have been," wrote Mary Ann Evans, better known by her pen name George Eliot, a Victorian era English novelist and journalist. I clipped her quote from a local newspaper years ago and kept it where I could read it every day. Now, it stares at me from the back of my keyboard, leaning against the monitor-faded, yellowed, and even a little wrinkled. This happens to be my favorite quote because it delivers an elegant, yet powerful, message about dreams and possibilities. And, it parallels a quote of my own, although perhaps not as eloquent: "Don't leave anything on the table"-a no-nonsense philosophy for living a full life. I began following my dream-to write-when I was old enough to grip a pencil. Over the years, I've written radio and television news, served as a correspondent for Associated Press, and worked as a freelancer, writing everything from articles to marketing and advertising copy. Along the way, I've met a colorful cast of characters some of whom inspired me to consider the possibility of telling stories of my own. I hope you found Last Stand at Bitter Creek an enjoyable reading adventure. Visit Tom at his website: www.tomrizzo.com Or contact him by email: tom@tomrizzo.com

As a big fan of historical fiction, I was definitely NOT disappointed by Tom Rizzo's debut novel! I was engaged and entertained from start to finish...and can't wait for his next book!

Wonderful, exciting story that takes place post civil war. It takes the reader along a trail with the main character Grant Bonner with twists and turns including, murder, robbery, underlying love, and good versus evil. I had trouble putting in down and when I did I kept thinking, "I wonder what is going to happen next." I felt like a mouse on the wall in all the scenes--enjoying what is unfolding without being detected.

Excellent book, beautifully written, great story.  Occurring right after the Civil War, the story grabs the reader and doesn't let go until the end.  This, in my opinion, would make a terrific series.  I hope to see more from Tom Rizzo in the very near future.
