One-hit wonder Parker Davis has a chip on his shoulder the size of the gold-plated record hanging in his front hall. Confronted by ill health, a looming eviction, and a career that peaked in the ’60s, Parker is thrust into a movement that pits him against big business, the Seattle police, the National Guard, and the Department of Homeland Security.
His only hope comes from his hobbit-footed roommate with the possessed cat, his contemptible neighbor and her ghosts from girlfriends past, the leader of the Lighthouse Sanctification Church, her style-challenged daughter, and the attorney trying to kick Parker out of his home.
