I picked up this book and read it on impulse. At first it made little sense but I found myself compelled to go on with it. The author writes well-a little along the lines of Nicholas Sparks but with a lot less drama. The book reads quickly-which got another star from the 3 I was going to rate it. If it had been longer, I probably would have put it down. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Hough creates a vivid and believable portrait of the Cape in 1968. The novel bristles with tension softened only by an unusual but quite believable love story. The author takes chances and you'll find wonderful surprises in unexpected places, particularly in the ending¿A beautiful story by a gifted author. Was this review helpful?
