Latino Christmas [Narada]

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Marty Lipp
This collection starts with a salsa-fied "Deck The Halls," but then downshifts for some pretty flamenco-pop, Brazilian jazz and incandescent Afro-Cuban versions of Christmas classics by four Narada artists. The chestnuts gently roasted over these Latin fires include "The Christmas Song," intrepreted by flamenco guitarist Chuscales, "White Christmas" delivered by Oscar Lopez, and "Little Drummer Boy," delivered with appropriate percussive fury by Cuba L.A. There is even a sweetly swinging version of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas." Wonderfully schmaltz-free, these jazzy instrumentals would be perfect for a holiday party, and are certain ...

All Music Guide - Gina Boldman
Latino Christmas was released in time to cash in on the Latin craze of 1999, but despite the obvious marketing ploy, this is a worthwhile holiday album. This collection of Narada artists includes Oscar Lopez "Little Town of Bethlehem," "White Christmas" and Cuba L.A. "We Three Kings," "Little Drummer Boy", as well as tracks by Cuscales "Jingle Bells," "Alegria" and Nando Lauria "Gloria," "O Come All Ye Faithful".
