    Cute sappy romance novel

    Jen & Travis are fianlly planning on tieing the knot and Maya & Jack's dating relationship begins.
    Some ups & downs...Jen's evil mother tries to break them up...no one is good enough for her Jen. While Jack's new job at the zoo means he barely sees Maya so she's wonders if they were better off as just friend. Can't wait to read book 3!

    READ IT!!!

    I loved Cool Beans so of course I had to read the second one! It was soooo romantic and funny! But the end leaves you wanting more so reading the third one is a must!!!

    Great book!!

    I read the first book because it was free and got hooked i love them nowand cant wait to read the others.... i highly recommend it for teens and coffee lovers like me and maya davis!!!haha

    Loved it

    From the fist page in book one till the last page in book three, i was hooked. In this second book, maya is struggling to be happy for her friend, and roomate. In turn her relationship with God is stuggling as well. Will she improve her love life as well. The setting in the coffee shop, and mayas love of sticky buns, post it notes, her love of frozen pasta meals, and yes even her stuggle with God are back in this book.

    A fun read with a lot of spiritual truth

    First off, I should say that I am a mom in her early 30s, and this book is mainly geared to the teen/early 20s age group. That being said, I really enjoyed reading Latte Daze. It was a fun, fast read, and reminded me of the days when I was a new college graduate trying to figure out where God was leading me in my relationships and in my career choices. The characters in this book are well-written, particularly the main character of Maya. I liked how the author doesn't just present Maya as a person who has everything under control, but shows her struggles and challenges as well. I have to admit, my favorite character in this book was the pregnant sister-in-law, and I laughed out loud at her food cravings and aversions. And being from Seattle and being a huge coffee lover, I liked the coffeehouse setting in the book and the coffee drinks that were always being discussed. Made me want to keep dashing out to get more coffee to drink while reading!


    Woven into the storyline of this novel is a lot of spiritual truth. Maya is facing lots of decisions and changes, and I like how she turned to God and the Bible for help in these situations. A good reminder to me! I also really liked the way that Maya interacted with the non-believers in her life and her quiet, non-pushy, form of witness. She really reflected I Peter 3:15 ("Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect") and was a great witness to others.


    If you or the young person in your life is looking for a fun Christian book to read, I recommend Latte Daze. As for me, I'm going to have to go track down Double Shot to see what happens next to Maya and her friends and family!

    Latte Daze

    "Latte Daze" by Erynn Mangum is the follow up to "Cool Beans" in her Maya Davis novels. I'd have to say I'm a big fan of Mangum's writing style and am hooked. Love is in the air in this book as both Maya and her roommate Jen are in committed relationships with their boyfriends and both taking big steps forward in each respective relationship as the book progresses. You hope that it all works out for both of them but there is a slight air of uncertainty that lingers. There are a few bumps in the road and many changes swirling around for Maya, someone who does not like change. I liked how Mangum is able to interject applicable scripture versus throughout whether it was through Maya's devotions, church or Bible study. I've not read another Christian fiction writer who has built so much of the story around multiple scripture before and found this very refreshing. It's a great light, enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book in this series. I'm maybe even more curious about a few of the secondary characters of this book, like Jen's Mom and how Maya's relationship and witness to them might change them in upcoming books.
