Good Book - Lots of Great Techniques!

I'm a writer (that's my book below) and a practicing hypnotherapist, and I love Abraham's and the Hicks' work for its clear, crisp and clean accessibility. If you are new to this kind of work, this is the perfect place to start. This book can help you learn to attract your own joyful exuberance, connect to your purpose and attract the money you need, too!

    A great way to start

If you are new to the "Law of Attraction" than this is a great book to start with.

It starts off a little strange and may even scare some readers off. The pessimist will have a difficult time with the first few chapters and may not make it that far, however, for those who are looking to change their lives for the better, this is your book.

Once I got past how Esther and Abraham came to know and communicate with each other it was hard for me to stop reading. Many questions I've had throughout my life have been answered just by reading this book.

If you're looking for a book to change your attitude to more of a positive one this book is excellent, but it goes far beyond that. I would dare anyone to read it and prove what is written to be wrong.

    Answer to my prayers

..I was confused as to why certain events kept happening to me, and none of the known to me religions, or philosophies were helpful.

And then somebody suggested I checked out the Law Of Attraction.
As skeptical as I was in the beginning, I promised myself that I'd give it a chance, and listen to the CD's with an open mind.

I was surprised to see that regardless of my skepticism, and putting aside where this information came from and the manner it was delivered in, it sure puts the pieces of my puzzle together. It is the first philosophy that made sense to me. And the Practices offered in the CDs worked on my toughest challenges, even though I did not expect them to.

This CD-set is a life changer for me.

    A reviewer

In The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham, Jerry and Esther Hicks speak of this powerful, consistent law that when you get a sense of what your vibration is, and when you pay attention to the way you feel so you can feel how much of who you really are you are focusing in this moment, then you will never again be uncomfortable or surprised about anything that happens to you, or to anyone else. No one else is keeping you from anything that you want. There is not an agency, not a parent, not an influence, there is not another -- nothing can prevent you from the fulfillment of your own desires -- only you. And only you can do it through offering a vibration that is not in alignment with your desires. And, your emotions are telling you in every moment whether or not you are allowing or resisting, whether or not you are in alignment or misalignment with your own desires. By understanding The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham, and more importantly, understanding the way you feel, you'll discover your creative abilities. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have there is nothing that you cannot reach for and achieve -- and there is nothing that needs to take a long time to come to you. Pay attention to the way you feel. And make your essential, determined stance be that you're going to make the best of things. No matter where you are, you're going to make the best of it. Now repeat that to yourself. Other's will discover, through their exposure to you, their own joy. You never teach anyone anything by pointing out what they're doing wrong and then trying to discipline them into doing something that you believe is right. All you do is distort their awareness of the only guidance that will ever be of any value to them. Jerry and Esther Hicks do an amazing job explaining The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham. There is one fundamental principle for you to attract your desired goal. It is your feelings. It is not thinking, but feeling what you think about that bring success to your desire or bring failure to what you fear. As a man think in his heart, so is he.

esoteric, interesting for the open minded

This series requires an open mind and a desire for personal improvement. It has much to offer for an intelligent and inquisitive person. Limited thinkers and those with little or no insight will miss the mark here.

    Highly Recommend

I recommend that you read this book first before any other of the Esther Hicks, Jerry Hicks books. This book explains the foundation of which all other Hicks' books are written.

This book is easy to read, clear and specific. If you really want to be happy, understand your life and others around you, this book will give you the answer.

    Wealth of inspiration...

The premise that we are in charge of our destiny is one of the most liberating premises in our existence. The Law of Attraction not only declares this premise, but teaches us the tools needed to make it a reality. There are countless examples of the Law in action and seen to fruition in addition to inspiring those of us that are willing to believe to incorporate these Laws into our lives. I absolutely recommend this book to everyone.

    Seems like a stretch

It made some good points and it was easy to read, but I feel that it lacks scientific reasons as to how it really works. Opposites attract in real life, not likes. It was entertaining, though. I left looking for more concrete reasons.

    Good Book

Overall, this is a good book. I enjoyed The Secret by Rhonda Byrne way better. Nonetheless, this book is motivational, inspirational, and theraputic in a spiritually conscious way. I believed in the Laws of Attraction prior to reading this book. Therefore, this book only provided me with another angle of the same view.

    Amazing! An Incredible Buy!

About a month or so back I decided that I wanted to purchase some good new material to listen to while I drive around throughout the day. That decision prompted me to stop off at my local Barnes and Noble and pick up The Law of Attraction CD Collection by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I have to say, this CD collection has DEFINITELY been worth the money.

For those of you who don't know who Esther and Jerry Hicks are, they are the "authors of numerous books based on the Teachings of Abraham." Abraham is basically a group of non-physical entities that speak through Esther and discuss such topics as your emotional guidance system, how your thoughts are creating your reality, how to get in tune with your non-physical source, how to get what you want from life, how to decide on what you want, and much much more.

It's been around a month since I purchased these CDs and I now just finished them. They really do give you a lot of bang for your buck. The package is thirteen CDs in length and is only $39.95. As I said before, I would listen to the CDs while driving my car. This was an easy way for me to get through the material while growing and improving each day. Also, as the CDs have such a positive message, I would feel good going throughout my day applying what I would learn.

The CDs are the audio version of the following three books by the Hicks:

"- Ask and It Is Given: The Law of Attraction: You'll come to understand how your relationships, health issues, finances, career concerns, and more are all influenced by this Universal Law; and you'll realize that it's your birthright to live a life filled with everything that is good!

    - Ask and It Is Given: The Processes: A series of 22 Processes assists you in reconnecting with the "Non-Physical" part of yourself, which will help you achieve anything you desire. As you apply these Processes, your naturally joyful zest for life will be reawakened!

    - The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham: This is the series of recordings that launched the basic Teachings of Abraham. You'll see how all things, wanted and unwanted, are brought to you by the Law of Attraction (that which is like unto itself, is drawn)."

I would DEFINIELY recommend these CDs to anyone who is looking for some good material to improve their life. The content is A+, explained clearly and logically, and can be implemented right away for good results.

This is not a book about GOD or how to please others. Thes book tells you how to attract things into your life that you want, how to keep the things that you don't want in your life out. This book will benefit anyone who reads it.

Finally, a book that answers lifes questions. For years I tried to find the answers in schools and churches. What a waste of a life. If you have questions like, "why am i here, whats the point or purpose, etc.", and you are sick and tired of hearing, " it's a mystery!, Nobods knows!" than I STRTONGLY recommend this book. It will show you how to unleash the power you have inside of you. Some people would rather keep the blindfold on, and believe there are no answers, and that you cannot control what happens to you. I am not one of them, this book not only changed my negative attitude and outlook on like, but it also hepled me realize what I want, how to get it, and how to make things happen. It changed who I am, because now I know the point, and the object of this game called life.

    A Sad Joke!

I purchased this CD collection along with The Secret. I found the concepts to be similar. However, this particular collection was quite dissapointing to me. Basically Esther claims to have Abraham speak through her at a moments notice with this funny accent that was all the more annoying. I personally really tried to get over this and try to grasp the concept, but I found that to be impossible I would advise you against purchasing this CD collection. If anything you'll get more out of The Secret.

    The continuous law of attraction

You know how you can meet someone for the first time and forever be stuck with the first impression of either liking them or hating them. This is the basic premise for the law of attraction which is The Secret. We are attracted to others (people and things) and others are attracted to us that match our vibration. This vibration has been refered to by many names: feelings, aura, energy, intuition, etc. So whether it's The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, The Law of Attraction by Esther & Jerry Hicks, or the Circle by Laura Day, you are going to get the same results! These are all good practical books written on the same subject, just by different authors. No matter which you pick up you are sure to start attracting what you want most in life. My best advice to you is this: if you like the practical approach of Holy Blood/Holy Grail by Michael Baigent et al, then any one of the law of attraction books should work for you. However, if you prefer the upbeat fictional version the Davinci Code by Dan Brown then you will want to pick up Gods or Monsters by Shalex Beckwith.

I read this book expecting to find a different view on how to see things. Instead I found this book to be really strange and kind of creepy! Transitioning into someone like a spirit is weird. I have a hard time believing this could truly happen.

The Law of Attraction - not attractive!

The main character of the book - Abraham - was too unbelievable and/or mystical for me. The advice given by this mystical/mythical character is not revolutionary in any sense - just elaboration on common sense. I had asked a loved and respected family member to recommend a book appropriate for an 18 year-old, and this was recommended. After reading the book I did not recommend it to the 18 year-old in question. The Abraham character puts a lot of emphasis on intense concentration on anything you really, really want - an idea that I did not feel was particularly helpful. I would not recommend this book, particularly to an 18-year old.

The ideas presented in this book are both old and new, since they have been echoed in different forms for hundreds of years. They are new because the Hicks express the idea of prosperity thinking in a unique voice - this book is after all channeled material. If you feel that you have a unfulfilled dream, goal or desire in life...one that you really, really want to achieve then this book is for you. The question I have is does it work? Well it's difficult to answer that. Certainly the positive mental vibrations that are created from reading this book can only help you.
