"This thoughtful book can supplement and enrich any recovery. It offers a simple, new way to combine the Twelve Steps with novel techniques that encourage growth. Sherry Gaba has artfully crafted a method to transform your existence, offering a model for recovery that shows you how to be everything you ever hoped to be. In our work on VH1's Celebrity Rehab, I've seen the amazing connections Sherry makes with those who are so terribly disconnected from others and themselves. Sherry provides a road map for rising above negativity and thinking of your self, your life, and your purpose in new and inspiring ways."

The Author's Sincerity Makes This Book Work

There is not a lot of new information in this new book THE LAW OF SOBRIETY: ATTRACTING POSITIVE ENERGY FOR A POWERFUL RECOVERY, but the manner in which therapist Sherry Gaba, herself a recovering alcoholic very much in favor of the Twelve-Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous, speaks to the reader is worthy: 'This book is a how-to manual for applying the principles of the Law of Attraction and doing the basic work to live a more purposeful, meaningful, and addiction-free life. I believe there are many ways to get to sobriety, and the Law of Sobriety is one such path.' The information contained here does indeed clarify the definition of the Law of Attraction - that the reality of life is related to thoughts (conscious and unconscious) that we put into the universe, thoughts being a form of energy that when projected into the world returns to us. For Gaba, her Law of Sobriety ' takes the principles of the Law of Attraction and puts them to work for a specific purpose - to help individuals recover from addiction and alcoholism.' What follows in the easy to read pages of this book are chapters on Finding Your Purpose with Intention, Living a Life that is True to Your Values, Living a Life of Authenticity, Learning to Live in Appreciation/Forgiveness/Compassion, Living a Life of Right Action, and Living with Awareness and Mindfulness. Yes, these concepts have been the core of many self-help books, but perhaps it is the talent of Sherry Gaba as a therapist - knowing how fast to present concepts and how important to reinforce changes - that makes her book a bit different form the others. Wether the reader is affected by personal addiction or is living with friends and family who are alcoholics or addicts, this book is a solid support for guidance. At book's end Gaba shares resources for further enhancement and healing. Grady Harp
