Overview

He's a Texas lawman carrying a badge...and a grudge.

And he could die protecting his unintended bride.

They're a perfect pair, both tough, wary, and the walking wounded. When their quests for vengeance collide, Undercover DEA Agent Dallas McQuade and Mia Linden, a disbarred lawyer whose personal life has been destroyed by drug lord Esteban Montoya, are forced into a reluctant partnership—and a quickie Las Vegas wedding.

Dallas vows to protect his temporary wife, but Mia has plans of her own, and they don't include leaving all the heavy lifting—or bullet-dodging—to Dallas.

Neither of them planned on falling in lust, let alone love. But they can’t fight the passion…and emotions…ricocheting between them.

But will Dallas choose vengeance—or love?

Maybe they can heal each other. And their make-believe marriage can become real.

If they survive.

Meet the Author

When her dreams of becoming a ballerina were quashed by early-onset klutziness, Diana Duncan took up the safer vocation of writing. Her first thrilling masterpiece—written in orange crayon—was titled “Perky the Kitten,” and became an instant bestseller with her grandparents.

Her childhood growing up as a military brat gave her the ability to leap into a conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime…and she always discovers a new friend in the process. This gift of gab perfectly equipped her for a career that involves making stuff up.

Di is famous for using seven words when one will do. She wields smart-assery like a samurai sword, and will be the first to volunteer in a catastrophe. Of course, she was probably the one who caused the catastrophe. She’s fiercely loyal to her friends and family…but in the event of the upcoming zombie apocalypse, she won’t hesitate to use them as human shields.

She loves her job as an author, and claims writing is the most fun she’s ever had while wearing her sock monkey pajamas. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and adopting abandoned curbside furniture to refurbish into treasures.

Diana published six books with a traditional print publisher before going rogue with Indie publishing. Di donates ten percent of the proceeds of every book sale to organizations that help both people and animals in need.

    Story with Depth

I enjoyed the story as it had depth to it. I would have given it 5 stars but for the use of strong swear words which turned me off. I recognize people talk like that but I choose not to and the repeated use of the F word was overkill. I chose this author based on her past with Harlequin, where the series she wrote for was verbally cleaner. What a shame such a writer resorts to bad language when she obviously is talented and her stories stand on it's own without them.

Suspense, Romance, Laughter, nothing better than a Duncan!

If you have never read Diana Duncan, this is a wonderful example of her great writing.
Laws of Attraction has it all! And wonderful cowboy of a hunkin hero who is as sensitive as he is handsome. Our heroine is a spunky spitfire of a gal who jumps into trouble with both eyes open.
This not only is a great love story, but it's suspenseful and keeps you on your toes.
Ms. Duncan is a writer who wraps you up in her very well written stories with passion, suspense all iced over with laughter. All of her books are this good. You can't go wrong choosing any Duncan romance. Now!!! On to book two! I can't wait!

And for Mia's first good deed of stopping and helping Dallas ,injured on the side of the road(which in real life never do, call 911!) , she was rewarded with something worth more than all the gold in Fort Knox. Logic would dictate both Dallas and Mia acting differently than they do in this story but since when has love always been logical? Esteban's love for his child costs him everything but Dallas and Mia's growing love for each other gets them the best ending of all. Pick it up and you won't be able to put it down till you finish and when you're done, Diana Duncan has more delectable stories with which to fill you heart!

    Page Turner!

Read in two days, only because I fell asleep at 1:30am and couldn't keep reading, LOL. Fabulous characters. Great sense of humor on both sides. Diana Duncan never fails to deliver a gripping love story and heartfelt characters. I love a story where both characters have a past and issues they must overcome to find their Happily Ever After. If you love witty characters, kick butt heroines, dangerously hot heroes, and one hell of an adventure, you won't be disappointed.

This is my 3rd Diana Duncan romance, and I am completely addicted. Her characters are strong alpha men, with even stronger women to tame them. She combines the right amount of romance and suspense in Laws of Attraction. This one is hard to put down.
