    One good song

Lovin' you is easy is the best song on this CD and the reason I bought it. I wish I had listened to the rest of the disc before buying. I rarely say bad things, but the rest of this disc is just not that great. The Lovin' you is easy track is really different and very catchy, but honestly, the rest of the songs just didn't do it for me. There are some very different instrumentations on the different songs, but none caught my attention for very long. Sorry!

    Lovely McLachlan....worth the wait!

I loved this CD. Now, I have liked all her CDs, but this one seemed more mature and different than her others. I like her original style, unique voice and deep lyrics. I think she is a wonderful singer, and I hope she continues to make great music like this album! I like her voice, the music that coincides with her lyrics and the soft sounds that come out of my speakers.

    Emotional Comeback for Sarah McLachlan

Laws of Illusion is everything you would expect from a Sarah McLachlan album. Her soothing, melodic vocals stand out over the instruments in the background as she pours her soul into each song. In this album she brings a sense of maturity as she explores love, heartbreak, renewal, and the weight of the world around us. Some songs, like "Out of Tune" hold a heaviness that you can feel as you listen to the lyrics:

It isn't my heart that's grown cold
The same mistakes are getting old
I'm lost for words, I don't know what to do

But when I'm lying here with you
And the whole world's out of tune
You're the one and only voice that makes things right
    So stay with me tonight

It is apparent that McLachlan has done a lot of soul searching in the years since her last album release. Overall, the album was not as upbeat as I would have expected it to be, but that certainly hasn't kept it from being on a nearly constant rotation since the day I received it.

    Sarah McLachlan 'Laws of Illusion'

This a great album, Laws Of Illusion, from Sarah McLachlan. This is her latest since the last, which was over 7 years ago. If you've ever been a fan of hers, then I think you will like this album. My favorite song is the second to last one, 'Bring On The Wonder'. However, I can listen to the album over and over to never get tired of listening to any of the songs. This is the only album of Sarah's that I own, and now I'm very interested in purchasing her others.

I've matured in 7 years, so has Sarah's Music

It's been many years since Sarah McLachlan released a new album. I've matured, changed, and my tastes have changed. Sarah's matured, and changed, too. Thankfully my tastes still include her music. I love Illusions. Its a great chilling-out-at-home doing crafts or playing online music. If you loved Sarah before, chances are, you will love her now!! I like to pop this CD in and pour a glass of wine while I'm blogging.

    poignant and lovely

This long awaited album from Sarah McLachlan is haunting and beautiful. As usual, she delivers poignant lyrics that are very easy to relate to. There is a slight departure from her norm as she explores some new rhythms, keeping things fresh and modern. Yet she manages to deliver us with her voice, ah that voice, that makes us shiver.

    Long Awaited Album!

Sarah McLachlan's, "Laws of Illusion", was not all I thought it would be. I love Sarah and most of her songs. But this one was lacking in strength of lyrics. Most of her music really reaches out and grabs your attention, but this album did not do that for me. However, there is a couple of songs on the album that if you listen to enough get to be at least likeable, such as: "Loving You Is Easy, and "U Want Me 2".

In all honesty, I feel disappointment after waiting so long for her to give us something new. Sarah still has a strong and powerful voice, however, the songs of choice on this album do not do her justice are us fans either. I will wait for her next work. Maybe it will be more like the Sarah McLachlan we all know and love. It is very true that if you do not have the right songs, it dose not matter how good of a singer you are. This album of Sarah McLachlan's Laws of Illusions, proves that.

I was provided a free copy of Sarah McLachlan's Laws of Illusion from the One 2 One Network in exchange for writing reviews in my honest opinions.

    The Long Awaited Return

With the revival of Lilith Fair we've been treated to the ultimate of grand returns with Sarah's long awaited new release. Fourteen years has not dulled her simply ethereal nor the way her lyrics can move one to deep emotion. Welcome back Sarah, don't stay away so long again.

    Upbeat, yet easy, listening!

Sarah McLachlan's new CD brings back memories from my past listening to her engaging music! Her style is still very much the same and her songs are as great as her older classics! Her songs are easy to listen to and not repetitive! They also have a very upbeat and entertaining feel them. I have really enjoyed this CD so far!!

    Sarah Mclachlan

The return of Sarah Mclachlan is a wonderful thing. Her album Laws of Illusion is great. Introspection has always been her strong point and once again she doesn't disappoint. "Awakenings", "Changes", "Rivers of Love" and "U Want Me 2" are quite fantastic. "Out of Tune" is definitely in tune. "Loving You is Easy" is a bouncy wonder. My absolute favorite is "Forgiveness", it is a song for anyone who has ever had a long relationship that ended.

Thanks to the loves at One2One network for the chance to hear this album.

    Love it!!!

    Sarah McLachlan-Laws of Illusion

Love it, love it, love it!!! My favorite song is Heartbreak, but you cannot go wrong with any of these songs!!!! They are great for a road trip, cleaning the house, bubble bath time, or if you just need a good cry. It is not often that I give a cd a 5 star rating, but this one definitely deserves it!!! I really think that there are several songs on the cd that most people will like, ie something for everyone! Sarah has a beautiful, melodic voice. This is her first studio album of new songs in seven years, and I hope that she does not wait that long again for her next cd. She will be touring with Lilith Fair this summer in both the US and Canada. I did receive the cd at no charge, but that is not influencing my review.

Classic Sarah and So Worth The Wait!

Finally! It's been 7 long years and Sarah is back! Her new album is pretty much classic Sarah when it comes to her angelic voice and poetic words, but you can also feel a new maturity. The collection is filled with songs of pain and love, which seems to have been inspired by personal events. I was surprised and happy to find an upbeat, sorta techno sounding song on here. "Awakenings" sounds like something you might hear from Dido. I loved it, but I wish the energy would have stayed for a few more songs. The rest of the cd falls into adult contemporary/adult alternative. Die hard Sarah fans will no doubt love this cd, and for them, I say it was worth the long wait. Those that appreciate adult alternative will also surely have this one in heavy rotation. One disappointment though is that two tracks were previously released on her last collection of greatest hits. After such a long wait, one would hope for a whole cd full of new material.

    Good CD

Sarah McLachlan is known for her beautiful, soulful balads that are universally loved, especially "Angel" and "I Will Remember You". Laws Of Illusion is a nice follow-up, but it doesn't quite live up to past performance. I enjoy listening to this CD, and especially like "Loving You is Easy" and "Forgiveness". If you can get past the fact that the CD might not realize the success of Sarah's earlier works, you might appreciate these heartfelt and sad tunes.

Good to see you back Sarah!

We've waited seven years for a new album from Sarah, but she hasn't let us down! Her voice is beautiful as always, and the songs are great. I really enjoyed "Loving You Is Easy" - a rather joyful departure from her usual. Although a lot of the lyrics don't seem to have the same depth that some of her older tunes do, this remains an incredible album.

    Great Album

This is a great album! If you love Sarah's other work you will love this album also. As usual Sarah's voice is beautiful and her melodies draw you in. It is a great CD to play while your working, cleaning, reading, driving, etc. If you already love the song "Loving You is Easy" you will not be dissapointed in the rest of this album.

    Laws of Illusion

I have been a Sarah McLaughlin fan for years but have not purchased any of her CDs recently. I saw that this was coming out and have been looking forward to giving this new CD a try. My favorites by her have always been songs like Adia where her voice is the focal point of the song. This CD did not disappoint in that regard. There was a mix of pop/alternative songs as well as several quieter vocals. My personal favorites were Forgiveness, Rivers of Love and Bring on the Wonder, but I really enjoyed everything on the disc.
