She finds him hard and even harder to resist, but she must, he’s off limits.

One of New York’s most eligible bachelors, Jaxson Ryan, is the poster boy for the tall, hot, conceited self-proclaimed manwhores. The only thing he wants is Ryan’s, Risk Manager, Alexia Keith.
What happens, when a man with a bedpost-notching waiting list, a man who thought he had it all, wants the only woman he can’t have?

The Layer Series is written for adults, by an adult (this is questionable). In contains adult language, and adults doing adult stuff like, hot sex and drinking scotch. It’s written for those who like to laugh and maybe shed a tear or two.

If you like them complicated, suspenseful, and steamy, you should put these on your list or pick them up instead. Crazy for Books Blog
This was my first exposure to T.L. Alexander, and shortly after beginning Layers, I hurriedly logged into Goodreads and added all her books to my TBR. Layers was a zippy read and good fun most of the through, with clever word-play, witty banter, steamy sensual scenes, and funny word salad. Empress DJ Rockin’ & Reviewing

It’s not everyday you read a story where you love the secondary characters just as much (and at time slightly more) than the main two characters. I loved the cast of this book – they ware charming, hilarious, and so damn lovebirds swear my cheeks hurt from all the smiling I was doing. Kris & Vic Book Therapy

Meet the Author

Layers is my first self published book ever. It's been a long journey. In a resent blog I wrote about the challenges of a new author. I compared it to childbirth. You can read every book available, see and talk to every experts but you don't really get it until you do it. But once you do you're not as overwhelmed, confused and just plain stupid. Well maybe I'm still stupid but I don't feel as overwhelmed by the process. Layers didn't start out to be a comical romantic misadventure, but as the characters developed it turned into one. I think that maybe my subconscious was telling me that I'd been reading too many depressing and or romances with whips, chains and all kinds of fuckery devices. Who the hell knows. All that I know is that for me I can read and enjoy all kinds of romance but I can't write all kinds. Not yet anyway. Don't get me wrong my characters aren't perfect they have issues—lots of them. Alexia is a self proclaimed fuck-up and Jaxson…well we don't really know what Jaxson is. Even the virile—pheromones weeping Henry isn't perfect. He's a bit of a lightweight after all. So what will happen in my future? What will happen to Alexia and Jaxson? You will just have to wait and see. TL Alexander More Layers 2014

Layers was a really great book that will capture your attention

Layers was a really great book that will capture your attention from start to finish. This was one book that had me laughing out loud at times. The book had a really great story line.

Alexia at times had a potty mouth on her but she was great. Jaxson at times seemed more serious but he could be funny too. Put both of them together in bed and they are like dynamite.

Alexia ends up being framed for embezzling money from work and Jaxson is the CEO of the company. He warns of what is happening. In the end she finds out who is framing her. But when Jaxson finds out she helped with the investigation he becomes upset but they are able to work it out.

I am so looking forward to reading the second book in the series. I want to see what happens next!

    Favorite Quotes:

“He thinks a legal pad is a place where attorneys hang out, and legal briefs are the tighty-whities that crawl up his crack.”

“You are my crack – my heroin.  It physically hurts to think about you not being a part of my life.”

“Eighty-five percent of my swimmers are doing the backstroke.  The other fifteen percent can’t make it upstream.”

    My Review:

This is my first T.L. Alexander read and shortly after beginning this story, I hurriedly logged into Goodreads and added all her books to my TBR.  Layers was a zippy read and good fun most of the through, with clever word-play, witty banter, steamy sensual scenes, and funny word salads.  Although there was always this maddening secret that I knew was out there, but weren’t privy to.  Then a nasty turn of events and a wicked cliffhanger totally wiped the smile from my face, squeezed my heart, and stole all the air from my lungs.  I was devastated!  I called the author every nasty name I could think of as I was totally invested in the story.  That crafty she-devil had lured me in like a siren - only to let me crash on the rocks... And I would still be fuming, swearing, and stomping my feet if I didn’t already have books 2 and 3 on my kindle.  Phew – crisis averted.

TL Alexander is new to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect so I just jumped into this series with both feet. Let me just say…. I love TL Alexander.
Layers introduces us to Jaxson Ryan and Alexia Keith. Wow what an introduction it was. I liked the way the drama begins to unfold and moves along at a pace that’s not exaggerated or forced.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
