Overview

Seeking sanctuary could be the hottest mistake she ever made.

The TripleHorn Brand, Book 1

A lifetime ago, Zuri Prescott kicked the dirt off her boots and ditched her small-time small town for the glam city life—and lived to regret it. When she’s framed for a bank job, she lights out for home, seeking refuge with her old high school sweetheart while she figures out her next steps. Only she discovers that the boy she left behind is the last man she should trust.

Sheriff Colt Triplehorn knows trouble when he sees it, especially when it comes in the form of a familiar trespasser, caught naked between an angry bull and her underwear. Sure she’s up to her usual no good, he grants her sanctuary at his ranch—the better to keep an eye on her, and purge her from his system once and for all.

Reconnection is sweet and hot, but the heat can’t hide the truth. When Colt inevitably finds out what Zuri’s running from, it’s too late to put the fire out, and he’s got a career-compromising choice on his hands. Follow the letter of the law, or follow his heart.

Warning: When a sheriff captures the girl who got away, expect revenge so hot it leaves brands on two lonely hearts...

Would you run from to the Law to the Law for Love? Zuri Prescot

Would you run from to the Law to the Law for Love?

Zuri Prescott grew up not trusting a soul. Her mom died and left her with a stepdad who was an ex-con. On her graduation day, he packed her things for her and told her she was no longer welcome in his home. Even her teenage crush Colt didn’t want her enough to ask her to stay.

Colt Triplehorn remembers the day that Zuri held up all the expectations that everyone said she would…everyone but him. He wanted to marry her, but if she didn’t want to stay after graduation then he would move on. Except he couldn’t. No woman could ever compare to his Zuri.

Zuri escaped a bank robbery only to suspect that her neighbor is the perpetrator, as well as stalker she noticed a few months back. She becomes a fugitive and runs to the cabin where she created fond memories of Colt, but her car was washed away by a flash flood. It doesn’t take long before she realizes that her heart is also in danger of being swept away. The teenage love has never been requited for his lack of action, and now, if he’s going to help her solve this crime, it’s going to be by his rules. While he doesn’t expect her excellent cooking, he certainly puts her to the test in the bedroom and shower. She knows she’s putting Colt in a dangerous situation because of her stalker, but also because he’s now the town Sheriff and he has to choose between her tall tale and upholding the law.

This book can warm up anyone up on a cold winter’s night, so be prepared. Character development occurs throughout the book, until you feel like you truly understand each person and their problems. The added suspense is wonderful because it will keep you turning pages wondering who to trust and what will happen next. This book set up the next books of the series for success and I’m looking forward to their release. Full sexual scenes are described and anal sex is mentioned.

Purely based on the cover, I knew I was going to like Laying Dow

Purely based on the cover, I knew I was going to like Laying Down the Law. I mean, the cover is hot and it is a series (I love series!) More surprisingly, I more than liked it. I LOVED it! Now, in fairness, it is my kind of book - Sexy heroic intelligent somewhat domineering man (preferably a cowboy) rescues a sexy, smart and sassy heroine... and she rescues him right back! How can you beat that? And Ms.Delilah is the Queen of Smart and Sexy...a win-win-win!

The Good: Two Words - COLT TRIPPLEHORN!! That man had me at "Lady, you need to hold real still...". Hot, level-headed, dominating, hot, uncomplicated, smart,... did I mention hot? Hehehe. The dynamics between Zuri and Colt were so well written that it was like being a fly on the wall. And those Tripplehorn brothers stick together and always have each other's back. Awesome!

The Bad: My biggest, well, only complaint? It was just too dang short! Kind of novella length at 100 pages. I really would have liked a little more story development if for no other reason than to draw it all out longer.

The Snuggly: Let me just say that you are going to need a fan starting about Chapter 3.;) The Snuggly in this book is so mouth-watering, oozing with lust and undeniable chemistry that you cannot deny it, no matter how hard some characters might want to (whom shall remain nameless in an effort to keep from spoiling all your fun;). But never you fear, there is hot sex and plenty of it!

Final Thoughts: Well, it took a heck of a lot of work on their parts but Colt and Zuri ended up with their HEA. This is an entertaining, frustrating, sexy read. It is meant for adults only. I would recommend it to anyone who love Contemporary Romance, especially Westerns, leaning heavy on the Erotic side. Enjoy!

Note: I received nothing in order to participate in this promotion. Opinions expressed are my own.

Laying down the law has never been so good

Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews

This is the first book I've read by Delilah. Now I'm going to have look at her other books.

Laying Down the Law is the first book in The Triple Horn Brand series, I can't wait to find out who's next and what the book is about. Laying Down the Law was not what I expected. Honestly, I'm not sure what I was expecting. Reading this book reminded me of Maya Bank's Colter's Woman, without the added guys involved. I loved the way the Triplehorn brothers stick together.

Colt is sexy on so many levels, I can't begin to explain. I love the picture of the guy carrying a big gun and using it.

I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
