Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
PW called LBD: It's a Girl Thing a "fun, breezy novel," as it introduced 14-year-old narrator Ronnie Ripperton and her two best friends ("Les Bambinos Dangereuses"). Now in the third adventure, LBD: Friends Forever by Grace Dent, the trio turns 16 and things are not so rosy between Ronnie, Fleur and Claude. So they try to patch things up by banding together to get summer waitressing jobs. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature - Mary Jo Edwards
This third installment in the "LBD" series is a fun adventure that features Ronnie, Fleur, and Claude. The trio's tight friendship, threatened by a mischievous classmate named Cressida, gets back on track when Ronnie's grandmother dies. The three sixteen-year-old girls, also known as Les Bambinos Dangereuses, find summer jobs as waitresses at a posh seaside resort. One day, Claude tearfully tells the girls that she has to move far away because of her mom's financial struggles. The threesome enter the Demonboard Babe contest and Ronnie gives Claude her first place prize money. Dent's work of fiction is about friendship, foes, hard work, surfer boys, and family. Adolescent readers may be influenced by Ronnie and Fleur's selfless behavior when they help Claude. In book three of the "LBD" series, Ronnie breaks up with her boyfriend, Jimi, and falls for a free-spirited surfer boy. But when the LBD's working vacation ends, Ronnie chooses to head home with Fleur and Claude rather than travel to Australia with her new beau. This title is a good choice for teen girls because they will relate to the feelings and experiences of the female characters.

Gr 7-10-Three friends, Les Bambinos Dangereuses, are on the outs-but not for long. Once Ronnie, Fleur, and Claude realize that their rift is all because of evil Cressida Sleeth and Panama Goodyear, they patch things up and carry out their plans to spend the summer in Destiny Bay. To earn their stay, the British teens hire on as waitstaff at an exclusive hotel. After adjusting to a grueling schedule and hard work, they begin looking forward to the Big Beach Booty Quake Party, which is the ultimate motivation for going to Destiny Bay. But then Claude learns that she will have to move unless her mom can come up with a sizable amount of money. A possible solution presents itself in a modeling contest, where the winner will earn10,000 pounds. Claude's devious ways of beating out the competition bring this already humorous book to the level of laugh-out-loud funny. Other events include the discovery of a mysterious ghost in their apartment, a new surfer boyfriend, and the reappearance of Cressida and Panama. Dent writes a fast-paced, plot-driven page-turner. Girls who enjoy books by Louise Rennison, who shares Dent's wildly sarcastic wit, will find another favorite author in this series.-Catherine Ensley, Latah County Free Library District, Moscow, ID Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

I think this book was great. But after i finished it i really hoped there would be a second book due to so many unanswerd questions. Like wht ever happend between her an saul and wht happend to them when they washed the poodles. Othere than the unanswered questions this book was great.
