You Can't Judge a Book by its Cover

Victoria Dahl continues to amaze me and I absolutely loved Lead Me On. The author's sense of humor certainly comes out in this book and I had to sit back and think what it would have been to have been raised like Jane Morgan had been and also the question first and foremost was you absolutely can't judge a book by it's cover.

Jane Morgan had been raised in a most unusual way. Her mother had a thing for men in prison, in fact Jane's father had been an inmate. She visited along with her mother, many of her mom's prison boyfriends, in fact, her step father had served time, was definitely a biker with a ton of tatoes and she absolutely adored him. In fact, it wa this very man who finally had enough of watching her trying to destroy herself and put her straight. He actually saved her life.

William Chase reminded Jane of her father and men from her past. He didn't fit the image of someone she wanted to see however he intrigued her and she was physically attracted to him. He frequented her office as he owned his own business, he had a demolition business and blasted away rock, etc. to make way for building sites. He drove a dusty, rusted truck, also had tattoos and didn't dress appropriately for Jane's like yet in the end, passion for him over road her common sense and she ended up sleeping with him and was very confused by all of her emotions.

Jane left her family and started over by changing everything and hiding from her past. She was a buttoned up office manager and wanted to marry a respectable person. However, when her brother was jailed and accused of some things he didn't do, Jane had to help her parents and brother and Chase as well as her father also assisted in proving her brother not guilty. However, her cover was blown and I wondered if she would ever recover and what it would take for her to see the love available to her with this amazing man who adored her.

Lead me On, was a most amazing read..I laughed and cried at the same time and I can't wait to read the other books in this series. I must say, I decided to read Victoria Dahl romance!

    Her best yet

I had read the previous two books in the series, the ones with Molly and Quinn. I thought this was the best yet. I really like the characters, particularly Chase, and I liked that it had more emotional attachment than her other books. I felt like it had a realistic storyline, by that his dad doesn't magically quit drinking or her brother isn't painted as a saint. I'm glad that Chase didn't back down and give in to Jane. I know the sex scenes are part of this genre, but I could do without. I think that these were great characters and I wouldn't mind another book with them, if that could work itself out.

    Victoria Dahl does it ALL!!!!

First one of Victoria Dahl's books that I picked up and I was taken away. She has a wonderful sense of fun and humor and it caused me to go out and buy the other two of the Tumble Creek series. This one was number 3. Number 1 was abosolutely the funniest thing - I laughed out loud!! Number 2 was equally enjoying and I wanted to BE Lori Love! Chase was the hero in book #3 and Jane was the character every woman wishes she could turn out to be. Loved her. Buy them all!!!

    Loved this book....Awesome Series

Victoria Dahl pens another sensational story in Lead Me On.

Jane Morgan, respected member of the community and trusted office manager, likes her quiet simple life. When she meets William Chase he makes her feel things she thought she left far behind her. Jane decides to have a one night hot affair with Chase and then go back to her quiet life.

William Chase's first meeting with straight laced Jane Morgan knocks him for a loop. Something about this prim and proper woman makes him want to mess her up a little. After Jane turns him down several times for a date, Chase is shocked to receive a late night call from Jane to come on over.

But Jane thought just one night with Chase would get him out of her system. Then her younger brother has trouble with the law and Chase is the one riding to her rescue. Jane has to put her trust in Chase in order to clear her brothers name. Can she trust Chase with her heart?

Lead Me On is a novel that will stay with you long after you finish reading. Chase and Jane's characters have real issues and problems to work out. Their chemistry is sensational and what I really love is that they really talk to each other. I loved this whole series and I can't wait for more books from this author.

    I Also Recommend:

Wickedly Delightful, Humorous and Steamy! A Perfect Dahl-esque Experience!

Wickedly delightful are the first words that come to mind when reading Victoria Dahl. And that means ANYTHING by Dahl. Her Tumble Creek series cuts straight to the chase, with vividly quirky contemporary characters that might appear to live hum-drum lives but in actuality are anything but. Their personalities will stay long in your mind after the novel is done, or at least till you pick it up-which I am betting not long after you read it the first time.

Lead Me On is the sauciest of the three (out of Start Me Up and Talk Me Down) simply because Jane Morgan is hilariously such a compelling character. What reader wouldn't identify with an uptight office manager who secretly yeans for a muscle-clad, inked beefcake in construction boots yet purposely dates staid conservative accountants. In fact her long line of extremely boring boyfriends is driving her crazy.

The best fun of Lead Me On is seeing this hilarious character come crashing straight into her desires (try as she might to fight them) and into the arms of hot and hunky (and yes, very tattooed) Billy Chase a delicious demolitions expert. One of the prevalent themes throughout Dahl's books is that of being true to yourself and this is something readers will identify with. Coupled with the ready humor, steamy scenes, and genuine character building makes Lead Me On a fantastic read. Dahl takes the reader on a journey of self-discovery, as her characters come to terms with who they are. Jane has a lot of issues to resolve regarding her past, her family, and a jail-bound brother-not the least of is that Billy Chase is definitely giving her a run for her money. And what more can I say but that dynamite is not the only thing exploding between the Billy and Jane. By the time you finish the book, readers will be fanning themselves. Please do yourself a favor and read the book in front of the a/c!

Just count me in on the Victoria Dahl bandwagon!

    Keeps getting better

I was skeptical this book could continue the pace set by the Victoria's prior works. I was so happy to be proven wrong. Loved the book.

This is an engaging contemporary romance

Although her taste in men was a chip off the old maternal block as her mom craved convicts and Jane Morgan relished the bad boys, she reinvented herself into Miss prim and proper. However, the Aspen office manager finds her perfect boyfriend Greg boring in spite of his being nice and considerate in and out of the bedroom. She dumps an outraged Greg.

Thus when tattooed William Chase of Extreme Excavations enters the office where she works, Jane rationalizes he is a one night stand that will relieve the ennui and get her refocused on snooty decorum. She failed to account for how explosive that one night proves to be as he is sympathetic to her needs as long as Jane accepts she will not be able to kick him to the curb.

This is an engaging contemporary romance starring a likable lead couple who make the bad image look good as the fun story line is driven by Jane and William. Although Aspen and the support cast never come into focus, fans will enjoy confused Jane as William proves bad girls need bad boys; which neither truly is.
