This is a different Craig Johnson. The author of the Longmire books does not live in Covina California, he lives in Wyoming. His wife is named Judy, not Samantha.

This is a somewhat common name, and a mistake might be easy to make but this ought to be fixed.

    Inspiring and Motivating!

I found this book to ring so very true. Thinking back over the years of my employment in sales and marketing, the concepts taught and modeled in this book would have made a huge positive impact on the staff and the achievements of the companies.

I have had the privilege of hearing Craig speak and he is everything the book leads you to believe!

Simple, encouraging leadership principles for Church workers

Ok, so there are tons of books on leadership. When I saw that Gospel Light and Regal Books were adding to the list of this genre I was quite skeptical. I wasn't even going to read the book until I met the author, Craig Johnson. Warm, personable, humble and real are my new impressions of this man. His life story, replete with triumph and tragedy, are on display in this book. God is proclaimed and glorified as the victor and ministries across the world should be blessed by this style of leadership. You will certainly benefit from reading this book but more importantly from taking your team through this book this year. Its not heavy theology but should make a heavy imprint on your ministry none the less.
Note: I received a free copy of this book from Regal with no expectations to read it let alone review it.

    Learn how to Lead Vertically

In Lead Vertically, Pastor Craig shares with us his thoughts on how to build an awesome leadership team that is not only successful but is fulfilled. Through powerful scripture references, personal experiences, and life stories submitted by his own staff; Pastor Craig show leaders the importance of building a team that is reaching not only the ministries (or companies) goals but also the staff's dreams. Letting them know that the best days are yet to come and that they need to keeping looking up because they never know when God is going to drop something awesome in their lap.

Pastor Craig has so many insightful quotes and statements in this book. Here are just a few a few of my favorite:

" Vertical leaders help others soar where eagles fly, not where the chickens grovel."

"You can't receive the harvest until you accept the seed."

"A vertical leader is inclusive and builds up whoever is willing to follow."

"To lead another life, one must be willing to give up a part of his or her own."

"Leadership is about knowing how you are without being defensive about who you are not."

I encourage you all to go out and get a copy of this book. It's available just about everywhere online and I am sure in the stores as well. Don't just buy one though . buy some for your staff. Sow into them . it will be worth it BIG TIME.
