Meet the Author

THE WORLD AT LARGE is beginning to feel Cedric Dean's pain. Like many misguided youth, Cedric loved the streets unconditionally. In 1995, just 22 years old, he was sentenced to life without parole for dealing drugs.
Almost fourteen years later, he's teaching real life gangsters how to be gentlemen and live more meaningful lives. Daily, he teaches fellow prisoners how to read and write. In addition to teaching Creative Writing and GED classes his other accomplishments include: acting as Intramural Basketball Commissioner, Chairman of NAACP Prison Branch 5135, Community Connections Committee, and the Executive Director of NAACP Prison Branch 5135. He has also coordinated Unity Day programs, youth development workshops, Gospel fests and Juneteenth Celebration programs. In 2005, he appeared in the "Written Word" before the House Judiciary Chairman, John Conyers with a prison freedom initiative designed to bring back federal parole.
When he is not helping prisoners better prepare themselves for society, Cedric writes emotionally enriching literature that shows gangsters and thugs how much of a mistake it is not to learn from his mistakes.
