Overview

Rick Hansen is president/owner, adjunct professor, business leader, and entrepreneur that impacts people and the organization whether in the classroom or in business. Whatever the role, he teaches people to become influential and impact the space they live beyond mere function and title. He specializes in people management and motivating the human factor to drive results.

Prior to his current role in senior management as Director of Operations, he served as General Manager and minority partner with an automotive brand, new car franchise in a major metro market for 10 years. There he acted as a hands-on, senior leader with job progression across a combination of business units.

Currently, he is “moonlighting” as President / Owner of an independent snowboard, start-up brand called Compatriot Snowboards Company in the dynamic Snow Sport Action Space. With a team of professionals and partners, Compatriot is slowly drawing attention to the “indy” startups carving a new line in an industry disillusioned by major brand dominance. He is also an adjunct professor teaching Organizational Development and Theory in the MBA program at California Lutheran University.

Before he became a leader in business, he was a public educator for 5 years in secondary education where he taught English Literature. There he also served as Director of the Soccer Program and Varsity Head Coach. He founded the school’s first ever Surf Team and Surf Club where they competed successfully against other high school surf teams. He was nominated by parents and colleagues 3 consecutive years for the prestigious Amgen Teacher of the Year Award.

He has over 15 years experience in leadership developing and mentoring teams, building organizational infrastructure, and positively influencing change.

Rick has an MA in Organizational Development and Management from Fielding Graduate University, one year graduate study in Theology from Oxford University, Oxford, England, a Teaching Credential from California Lutheran University, and a BA in English Literature from Westmont College. He is a catalyst that understands people and business, but more important he knows how to put them together and get results. He can be reached at:
