Read by Barbara Rosenblat with her usual expertise, this tape centers around a modern parable featuring a business executive. Steve finds that his usual tools for managing his employees and keeping his company productive are no longer working. Even worse, he sees that he is losing his zest for leadership and becoming less effective. His former boss, the man who started the company, introduces him to Maria, who guides him to discover within himself a new set of management tools. In cooperation with those he leads, Steve rediscovers the "heart" of his business and, in turn, becomes a guide, and a better leader, for others. The principles presented in this program are based on sound business practices. At the same time, the methods discussed are not the usual recommendations. "Following one's heart" is not taught in most MBA programs. This audio, though, will certainly interest managers who find that the "usual fare" is failing to nourish either themselves or their companies. For libraries serving experienced managers who are willing to be a little "out there" in the methods they use to run their companies.--Kathleen A. Sullivan, Phoenix P.L.
