Learn to Read Music in a Day or Close to It-Really!by Steve Denham
Hey, all you cool guys and gals! Welcome to the fun and exciting world of learning to read music. That's right-I said fun! Because that's what it is-fun and easy. And anyone can do it. And I mean anyone! I know that there are a lot of you cats out there who maybe noodled around on some kind of musical instrument when you were young and hip, and would really dig re-learning some of the basic stuff about reading music. This book is for you! Maybe you sing or play by ear, and never did learn how to read music. Don't feel left out. This book is for you, too! Then, there are the rest of you-and you know who you are. Never played, sang, read or even danced-always wanted to, but now you think it's too late. You figure it's too complicated, can't teach an old cat new tricks. You know-the typical whining. Well, take heart, folks. This book is especially for you! You, too, can join the ranks of the musically cool.
By using the plain language, (I prefer "hip"), techniques and examples set forth in this little book, you will quickly understand the basics of musical notation. You won't be able to help yourself! Fun and fast, that's where it's at. LET'S GO!

My husband and I have always wanted to play music but had a hard time learning and understanding the really important part-reading the sheet music. After a day of reading this book we are both on our way to reading and understanding the basics. Thanks Bogart and Steve!!! The Reitsema's
I am middle-aged and have always wanted to learn how to read music and play an instrument. I've tried other books, but gave up after a few pages because it was either too boring or too hard. I thought I was too old to learn how to do this. Bogart(the trumpet-playing character in the book)is very funny and keeps your interest throughout. I spent two days, and could look at a piece of music and know all the things Bogart said I would. I look forward to the next book!
