Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Meredith Kiger
This collection of skill-building activities is designed to boost the emerging readers' abilities at decoding words. Clues to treasure hunts as well as additional materials are provided, and the parent or teacher simply tears them from the book and places the clues about the home or school. The reader must decipher the clues to eventually find the "treasure." Simple line drawings are employed as further clues. The author used this method in working with his own child who struggled with learning to read, and he found this technique to be a winner.
