    Something new to learn...

I was familiar with the "yo-yo" scrap fabric quilts, but had never seen the crochet version. Played around with the instructions in this book using several different yarns... very different results each time. Cotton yarn was my favorite because it showed off the stitch pattern very nicely, and would make for a beautiful summer blanket. In this technique, you create a stand alone row of half yo-yo's, and then complete the other half as you attach the "row" to your project. The pattern can also be done in clusters to form various shapes which you then attach as you go. The photo on the booklet cover does not do justice to the beauty of this stitch.
