I was a landscape contractor - created my own design/build business. I learned "how it's done." I don't garden this way any more because I found a better way - a MUCH better way!

I live in my garden now. It's alive. And so am I!

More about working with nature than regular gardening books

This book isn't exactly up to date but for info on historical garden practices and heirloom varieties it's really good. Also an excellent read just for the entertainment!

A different philosophy of gardening. Some interestiing ideas, but not much in the way of concrete, practical plant selection or care advice. The section on leaving a natural area was unique, but difficult for a gardener who likes neat manicured areas and colorful, diverse plantings.

I found this book not for the " real gardener ", the down to earth , get dirty, "green thumb " gardeners but more for the faint of heart and recreational type gardener.
