Overview

After a painfully failed marriage, the sting of rejection still aching even a year later, Juliana had sworn off relationships. Despite pressure from her sister to get back out there, she was happy to keep to herself in the little coastal town of Port Charlotte. She focused on improving the lives of her students - if she couldn't do anything to improve her own. That all changed when she met Mark in the most unlikely of situations: at the receiving end of a brutally honest parent teacher meeting. He was smart, handsome, and falling for her, despite his instincts telling him not to. Juliana finds herself struggling between keeping up the walls that she's built to protect her heart, or taking another chance at learning what love is again.

I really enjoyed this one! It was exactly what I was looking for, a well written story, fun characters, and didn't make me think too much - it just allowed me to be entertained. Juliana was maddeningly relatable. We've all been where she is, maybe not to that extreme, but we've been there. Mark was perfect, and their relationship - while given the genre we knew how it would turn out - came together wonderfully. As much as I loved Mark, I think I loved his kids even more! Not something I thought I'd ever say about a romance novel, but his daughter especially was a great addition to the story. Now I've just got to find Port Charlotte... it sounds like a great place to spend the summer!

Good read, though it could have used a proof-reader.
