Overview

In the not-so-distant future, the world is in a serious state of distress. Not long after big-haired glam rockers Nicholas Von Miere and Seismic Jimmy return to Sunset Strip, the sun fails to rise one morning. Nicholas has also sensed that he is losing sight of his teenage daughter Ilsa, but the problem is about to get worse than he ever suspected. One night at the new Pan-American Exposition (which the city voted to build over top of Central Park), Ilsa meets sixteen-year-old glam-and-sleaze loving criminal Danny O'Malley. The son of the late San Francisco Hellcats' president, Danny comes from an extremely troubled past. It doesn't help that Danny emulates Nicholas and soon starts forcing his way into the Von Mieres' lives. Soon after he shows up, a string of bizarre, grisly crimes start happening around the Big Apple. It isn't long before people start calling Danny a home-grown terrorist.

Ilsa and Danny fall deeply in love, and it quickly becomes a strange tangle of musical beds. They are both unknowingly messing around with the same enigmatic magician, while Danny is scorching the sheets with Nicholas's former mistress, who is determined to ruin his bid for mayor. With Earth's next ice age or even the apocalypse approaching, Nicholas squares off against his friend Todd and a bitter rival from London. Terrible secrets are uncovered, and the most unlikely people from his past show up. Finally one night, Ilsa commits a crime so heinous it will threaten to tear the Von Miere family apart forever.
