Really? As a card carrying member of the Save a Horse Ride a Co

    Really?

As a card carrying member of the Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy club, I would be ashamed to claim Sam into the sisterhood. I real cowgirl can ride, rope and look damn good in a pair of heels while doing it. Try as I might to bond with this female character, I couldn't help but think she had no business being on a ranch to begin with. I real woman doesn't have to lose her feminity to gain respect. Seriously, what century was the author shooting for? I am not saying there is not discrimination in this day and age, but women have come a long way baby and there are heel marks on the back of society to prove it.

It takes a certain kind of woman to be a rancher or a rancher's wife. Sorry Sam, you don't cut it. I lost all respect for the female character early on when childish behavior began. Don't tell my parents I got shot??? Really? Don't tell my brother they burned my barn? Hello... maybe part of this gals problems with earning respect had nothing to do with her being a woman but her immature behavior. I believe the whole story line could have been handled much better without turning Sam into a mass of contradictions. I didn't see strength, I saw a stubborn, petulant child which made it difficult to respect the two men that fell in love with her. Not to mention their need for her to "change" her appearance to appease them. Putting a dress and lipstick on isn't going to make her a better woman, sorry guys. Leaves you to wonder if they really wanted a woman or Barbie? The sex was so-so and I gave it two stars for effort.

Double the love, double the fun!

If the rest of the series is filled with ridiculously sexy and amazingly sweet guys like Heath and Wade, then it'll be an auto-buy for me. I loved Heath and Wade with their being so different yet the same. The way they were only demanding when they needed to be and passive when needed was a very refreshing thing to see. I admired Sam's strength and stubbornness. However, I didn't get why she thought losing her feminine side would gain respect with men. She didn't run around half naked acting like a trollup, and her family were known for their ranching. Sure she was met with some discrimination, but doesn't that just want to make you prove them wrong by hard work instead of shutting yourself in?

But all in all, really great stuff here. The sexing was awesome, and the loving was better! Will be eagerly anticipating the rest of the Callen gang stories!
