I really enjoyed Hawke and Rachel's story. It is funny and so full of excitement it is hard to put down. Oh, the sexual tension and love was fun to read too. I can't wait to read the next two!

This book was a great read and both the plot and the steamy sexual scenes were very enjoyable! If you want a little more than just a quick romp between the sheets from your book, then this is the book for you!

Please!! I found this book insulting. How can one even empathize or even care for a main character that is so painfully infantile? On one hand, you say she is a professional woman and yet in the space of the first few pages, you have this grown woman flash her boobs in order to get backstage at a rock concert, have her messing with the rock stars, then you pepper in that she quit her job because she was involved with her boss. Oh joy--she sounds like a real winner. She is nothing short of slutastic. Then to add spice you introduce our rock star as an undercover (on so many levels) Navy seal. They are investigating one of her clients so of course their only avenue to do so is for our hero to have sex with her. We all know pillow talk will make women spill their guts. Really?? If this is all a group of Navy Seals can come up with then I say pack it in boys. Apparently you are all brawn and no brains. Silly me, I thought this was going to be a fun read but the story and the characters were sophomoric and I serious wanted to throw this so-called book across the room. As it was nestled inside my nook, I couldn't relieve my anger in this way. I settled on writing this review and deleting this crap off my nook. Hey if you like your intelligence insulted and the Navy Seals maligned, this is the story for you.

One of the worst, amateurish books I have ever read. It became a game after p50 to see how bad her writing could get - choppy and hard to follow along - mixed up names of who was in the conversation one chat to the next, the story was ridiculous. SEAL just happens to become a rock star. Really? how much time and money did that take the government? The plot was soooo bad and kept making them seem incompetent to make the women seem clever. Worse yet it was not hot at all. I think a teenage girl could write this better. arghhhh delete!

This was a little light and unbelievable for my taste. Folks who like a light read will probably enjoy.

Wild concept - Navy Seal and his team are undercover in Diablo, Arizona as a mega rock star, his event manager, and his bodyguard security team, so that they can investigate a connection between nuclear terrorists and the beautiful architect who is stiff as her buildings (think Bones style statistical comments at odd moments). There is a potentially likeable relationship between Hawke and Rachel, but the story arc and writing are both choppy, with lot's of dropped comments and improbable plot twists, misunderstanding about which law enforcement agency (not military) would be conducting an investigation into terrorism on US soil, choppy story development lines dropped in for character background that are never fully explained, so characters feel only half developed, and way too many cheesey lines, such as how Hawke would feel about her if he were a vampire. Really??? This needs a major rewrite - it is being deleted, not saved. It may be free, but there are much better examples of free romance to spend your time reading.

2.5 Stars and an 'E' for Effort. I thought and still think this book has potential. It has an interesting story line, decent characters and a little bit of light mystery. However... the writing is sub par and the book is in desperate need of professional editing. There are good bones here-but not so good execution of the story line. I often found passages disjointed and unfocused. Oftentimes we would jump from one point to the next with no segue in between. The time flow of the book needs to be worked on as well. In one part- we're told it's not yet seven in the morning. A few pages and a short conversation that does not hint at any time passing and it's all of the sudden lunch or dinner time. Another example of not well thought out time issues- we're led to believe the characters are late twenties or early thirties. Yet Rachael has been at her job for 10 years and Hawke has been a rock star for 20? AND a trained Navy SEAL and a Lieutenant at that? (We won't get into that- I'm a military family girl and SEALs would NEVER have a job like that) Anyways- after being in the service long enough to not only become a SEAL, but then to be a 20 year veteran rock star- well Hawke would have to be in his 50's. It's like no research was done on any of these professions at all and numbers were just made up. In fact- I'm 99% positive that's exactly how it went. If Mia got someone to help smooth these things (and other things that I'm sure I've forgotten) then this has the potential to be a very good read. I absolutely loved the interactions between Max and Cameron! I did notice there's a second story- Max and Cameron's story. But because of the not so stellar way this one was written- I won't be looking into that one anytime soon.

Mia Dymond did a fabulous job with this book and it was no doubt a great debut! I discovered Mia Dymond via Smashwords a while back and have been a loyal fan ever since! This book was very entertaining. The characters were well developed as well as the plot and storyline. The pacing was good and I also enjoyed the little suspense that was provided in the story. It helped move the story along and I especially loved the romance and sizzling tension between Rachael and Jayden. An added plus that I highly enjoyed was the humor, especially the banters between secondary characters Max & Cameron! If you liked their constant banters in this story, you will love them in Outspoken Angel! It was one of my faves out of Mia Dymond's Navy SEALS series. Overall, 'Leather, Lace and Rock-n-Roll was a great debut for Mia Dymond. It was fun and sexy with a touch of humor to keep the reader entertained. Therefore, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a good story to pass the time!

This is a really great read. The romance is spot on and with the touch of humor made it a book u didn't want to put it down. Also just enough action to keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. If you are looking for a great read this is the book.

Interesting plot, an undercover SEAL posing as a super famous rock star, not something you see frequently or ever. That was really hard to believe but, each author has their own right to be as creative as possible. I did enjoy reading the different characters and enjoyed the playful banter between Max and Cameron. Hawke and Rachel were the main characters but their chemistry wasn't really believable, especially with Rachel's childish indecisiveness. The dialogue was a bit hard to follow throughout the entire book. One sentence Max and Hawke are talking then three sentences down Rachel and Hawke are talking somewhere completely different. I found myself rereading a lot of paragraphs because I kept getting confused. The sexual tension was great, very detailed as was the actual act. So no disappointment there. Overall it could have been better if Rachel's character wasn't so whiny with low self-esteem. SR

Terrible book. It skipped around so much, it made no sense. Terrible story line. The only positive thing i can say is that I only noticed one typo.

this story was fun but the plot was thin and there were some problems.  first, if Hawke and Max have been in the military for over 20 years, they would not be at the lowest ranks.  and since SEALS are not allowed to discuss their missions with other military people, I seriously doubt they would be revealing it all to 2 civilian girls esp. someone with a big mouth like Cameron.  the plot seemed like an afterthought but the characters were fun, the relationship part was fun, and it was a nice breezy read.

This is one of the few books that I Could. Not. Read.   Really.  It was Chapter 5 before I had a remote clue of what some of the story was about.  While the vernacular was good, the pacing was choppy, character development was non-existent, the 2 primary characters had no chemistry and the plot was so thin that I honestly thought I had skipped the first part and came in halfway through the movie. I literally went back to the beginning looking for a prequel that didn't exist. The premise stretched the limits of my imagination and not in a good way. There are huge gaps in the story that do not make any sense and it was frustrating to read. So I stopped.  I was originally excited to read this series but that is so not going to happen.  Thank God I did not pay for this!!  I rated this 2 stars not because the book was slightly good but because the author does have a way with words and I am hopeful that she capitalizes on that talent in time.

Needs work.Confusing, no tension, and you root for the best friend more than the main character. The rock star seems weak and you tend to forget his role in the book.

This made 50 Shades look like a great literary work. I found it hard to follow, there was no natural flow to the story. It was all over the place, time table wasn't clear. The characters were unlikable, stupid, or just plain mean. I did like the best friend, she had some spunk. Don't do it to yourself! I understand its free but you will not be able to get your time back.

Gave up after the first few pages.

Loved the characters and story. There were a few gaps in the timeline that could have been filled in better but its a HEA for the good girl and her bad boy.
