Overview

It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. Yes, Jerry Zezima swiped that from Dickens, but Dickens is dead and he can't sue. Besides, it perfectly describes the life of a baby boomer who also happens to be a husband and father.
In "Leave It to Boomer," Jerry Zezima describes in hilarious detail his life in a household where he is surrounded by women (one wife, two daughters, various animals) and why, as a result, he is the very model of the modern middle-age man.
"Leave It to Boomer" is the first book by popular and widely published humorist Jerry Zezima, who sees the lighter side of life and expresses it in a way that readers, especially middle-age parents, can identify with.
A lot of people, especially baby boomers, women as well as men, can relate to Jerry Zezima. His unique brand of good-natured, self-deprecating humor makes readers see themselves in funny situations and laugh at the absurdities of modern living.

By Dawn W. Jerry Zezima's favorite target in his humor? Himself. His good-natured pokes at his own foibles and mishaps make for hilariously funny reading. My favorite chapter? The one where he models jewelry at a home show jewelry party - fall down on the floor funny. Zezima seems like the type of guy you'd love to have at the party, because you know everyone would have a great time listening to him share his stories.

I only wish I had written this book first. Dear God, it's funny. I'm talking truly LOL-waking-up-my-husband-at-midnight funny. I enjoyed this book so much I gave up therapy. Seriously - Jerry Zezima IS the very modern model of a humor author, among other things which probably shouldn't be mentioned on a family show. OK. Really seriously, I bought copies of his book for all my dearest friends and family members for Christmas so they could experience the laughs without stealing my copy. ONLY BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU WANT A VERY FUNNY READ that will take you down a trail of memories you can truly laugh about now. I wish...I wish...I wish there were more "stars" to rate it. On a scale of 1 - 5, it's 100. Can't wait for his next book!!!!! ~Kathy Eliscu, author "Not Even Dark Chocolate Can Fix This Mess"

KEEP 'EM COMING, JERRY! I learned a lot from this book. I learned that men get wedgies, too, that real men buy jewelry and have pedicures, and that beer making led to professional football. I was grateful for the thorough explanation of yoga which spared me the effort of finding out for myself. Jerry even makes doing a will look fun! This book is a laugh-out-loud antidote to the news. Can't wait for his next one!

Leave it to Boomer" is a very humorous book that made us smile and laugh. We can identify with all of Jerry Zezima's witty columns and this book causes us to pause and try to see more humor in our day to day life. A MUST READ for any Boomer!

Jerry Zezima's hilarious book: Leave it to Boomer is more than just a fun romp through the life of a Modern Middle-age Man, as Zezima's subtitle suggests, but more a look at a father, husband and humorist, who in the space of 154-pages so eloquently and poignantly takes us on a journey through the landscape of his life. Each situation is guaranteed to have you laughing, and even crying as you journey with Zezima through the under-belly of what being a "Boomer" is all about in the best and worst of all possible ways. I loved this book, Zezima's style is unique and up to its usual wry standards one expects from this veteran humor columnist. As a parent myself, it all makes perfect sense, but when Jerry Zezima says it, it becomes art. Bravo on Leave it to Boomer, a book that should become a permanent might-table fixture.
