The Leaven Of The Phariseesby Katie Hanrahan
Molly knows nothing about her late father's past but when she steps off the plane in Dublin Airport, she steps into another world---a world where children could be taken from parents and locked away by the State and the Catholic Church. Her journey to bury her father's ashes will take her far from her destination and force her to confront the legacy of his secrets, a legacy that has left her crippled.

Like most people of Irish descent, I thought I knew a little bit about the Auld Sod. This novel is well-written and presents a segment of recent history that has been kept hidden for years, not only by the Irish government but the Catholic Church. Within the pages, however, there is also a touching story of a woman discovering her father and, at the same time, coming to understand herself. It's a beautifully crafted story that keeps you turning the pages.
