Leaving Las Vegas by Aleah Barley:

"I'm so glad that what happened in Vegas didn't stay there.  A sexy, fun, thrilling romp of a romance that had me alternating between a swoon and laughing out loud." --bestselling author, Robin Covington

When West Virginia wild child, Glory Allen enters a private poker game with her town’s dreams at stake she loses it all. To make matters worse, she’s trapped in a car with the sexy but infuriating man who won—and accused her of cheating. Now because of him, she’s on the run from the mafia who put out a hit on the stuck-up casino magnate with the toe-curling good looks—and he isn’t even her type. So why can’t she cool the explosive chemistry between them?

She’s out of control…and she’s enough to drive Luke Tanner crazy. Yet she’s the only one willing to put her neck on the line…for him—a complete stranger she professes to hate. Now he’s in debt…to her. And it’s a debt he’s willing to work off any way she wants…on the hood of his sports car, in a waterfall—wherever she’ll have him, he’s willing to pay the price.

But the stakes are raised when they return to West Virginia—helping Luke escape has put Glory and her hometown in the sites of someone who wants him dead. This time Glory decides she’s not going to end up empty-handed—it’s time for the winner to take all and she won’t stop ’til she wins his heart.

Attention grabbing from the very first paragraph.

Action packed thrill ride from beginning to end.    Fast cars, bullets flying and two completely opposite people.

This book brings it all.   You will not be disappointed.    This is the first book I've read by Aleah but it will not be the last.  She keeps you turning the pages.

Heading to Las Vegas with fifty-thousand dollar from the townsfolk who believed that Gloria can help raise the money that was needed. Why? To save the last vacant property in the town. How? By play a game of poker.
But things quickly turn and go wrong, when one of the other players, Tiffanette pulls a gun demands all the money… and has some henchmen come into the game room. Tiffanette is having a “tiff” but why?
Luke one of the other player should have protection/a bodyguard but not with him…
“I think the robbery was sham. Someone paid Tiffanette to kidnap me. She’s not working alone Whoever it was knew my company would have paid a fortune to get me back - and everything would have been kept quiet. As long as my company paid the ransom, cops wouldn’t have been involved.”
    “Meaning?”
“After you left, Tiffanette shot Bones. I don’t think she meant to but that changed things from bad to as-bad-as-it-can-get for her”
    Why and who?
Will Gloria get the money that she needs to save the last vacant property?

This book with its alternating POVs as well written dialogue which I did find amusing…
“This thing is more temperamental than Cara May during a hot flash.”
It was a fast paced page turning.
“You could have warned me it didn’t shoot real bullets”
“I did. I said that it wasn’t that type of gun.”
Well written and enjoyable treat to read.
I received the book for an honest review one that I can honestly say that it was a solid 5 star book to read, thank you.

Action-packed adventure with the right amount of romance and a sexy get-away car! Enjoyed the character development of both Glory and Luke and how their perspectives of each other changed. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning with the far-fetched plot, but the story got better as it went along and I was pretty absorbed in the plot by the end and wished it was a bit longer. The interplay between Glory and Luke was fun and funny - Glory and her family are also hilarious. There was also an element of mystery/suspense, but it took a backseat to the romance plot. The ending left a good feeling - gotta love a HEA =)

This was the first book I’ve read from Aleah Barley but it definitely won’t be the last!  I found Leaving Las Vegas to be a great read from start to finish.  Luke and Glory will leave you smiling and sometimes even laughing out loud as they try to evade gun toting bad guys out for blood.  On a wild and crazy ride to West Virginia these two prove that opposites really do attract.
Hopefully there will be more books about the other sisters, maybe even the wild cousin that has a knack with explosives? ;o)
I received an eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Right from the start this one drew me in. It was just a fun ride. I love both of the characters, Glory from her small town and the big city guy Luke. The chemistry was so tangible between them. It was a non-stop adventure with a great romantic build up. This one just made you have to laugh out loud and smile. It was a very sweet and steamy read. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

What a fun and wild ride this book was! I enjoyed every page of action, romance, and witty banter between the characters. The characters were colorful, the adventure was exciting, and the chemistry between Glory and Luke was sizzling. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a fast-paced romantic suspense novel with lots of humor rolled in to it!

Glory Allen is a hoot – speaks her mind, has a heart of gold, and isn’t afraid of what life throws at her. Luke Tanner is hot – wealthy, sexy, and a man who is used to being in charge. Luke knows what he wants, and he wants Glory, at least until he can get her home safe since they have found themselves on the run after a poker game in Las Vegas goes bad.

Glory needs to win money at the poker game to help save her town. Luke needs his weekly poker games to help unwind from his real life role as a casino magnate. When someone targets Luke for kidnapping, Glory helps Luke escape. Luke is determined to figure out who is behind the kidnapping, and is also determined to return Glory to her small West Virginia town safe and unharmed. Even though their backgrounds are totally different and they don’t see eye to eye on things, Glory and Luke can’t deny the sizzling attraction that exists between them, but is that all there is between them, or will love have a chance to play its hand?
