Editorial Reviews

From The Critics
Reviewer: Peter Gloviczki, MD(Mayo Clinic)
Description: This second edition book describes the pathology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of leg ulcers.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide guidelines in the diagnostic evaluation and medical and surgical treatment of venous and ischemic ulcers of the leg. The book provides much needed information on the management of a difficult and neglected problem. The main focus is on the management of ulcers caused by chronic venous efficiency, and the book meets the overall objectives.
Audience: The book is intended for medical students, residents, vascular surgeons, internists, and dermatologists. The senior authors and most cocontributing authors are internationally known experts in this field.
Features: The appropriate amount of illustrations include fine drawings, photographs, and 14 color plates. The references are adequate, useful, and recent.
Assessment: This is a useful book for all students and physicians who participate in the treatment of patients with venous ulcers. It is also a good reference book on the treatment of varicose veins and all stages of chronic venous insufficiency as well as a good reference to select appropriate operations for the treatment of venous ulcers.
