Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Holy Sexy Alpha Male batman!!! This book was so incredible! You can’t go wrong with a sexy alpha male who is attracted to a girl with curves! This was like my dream book. I really can’t say enough good about this story line. It’s been a while since I’ve read a good book with an alpha male who growls and who gets what he wants. This book was exactly that. It also had a great female lead character that was self conscious, was incredibly smart, but incredibly determined to do what she had planned all her life for. The meeting of these two was written incredibly well. It was like a fairy tale of sorts. It was sweet and feisty. It was growly and swoon worthy. There was absolutely no lack of detail in this story. There was no question what was going on in the story line. The author did a great job explaining and detailing out what the scenery was, describing the characters, and for this story, most importantly, the art. I’m not much of an art fan myself, but the way that the author described the pieces of art, it made me want to go visit an art museum. I think having the ability to make a reader want to actually see some of the paintings or even branch out and visit and art museum is pretty top notch in my books. Would I recommend this book to you? Without a doubt! It was an absolute great read and the story line flowed very well. It was a bit of a longer book so it didn’t end too quickly. The story wasn’t lacking, there were really no details untold, the story line was complete and ended well. It was a well rounded story with great characters and great interaction. It was an absolute enjoyable read and one that I wouldn’t mind reading again. Definitely grab your copy today and get to reading. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Wow, what a phenomenal and entertaining novel! Legally Charming by new to me author Lauren Smith, is chock-full of romance, heat, drama, and true love. It is a fast-paced read with two main characters that are instantly fascinating, likable, and have a ton of off the charts chemistry. This is the first book from Ms. Smith's brand new series, Ever After, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Felicity Hart is a smart young woman that meets every goal she has set for herself. She is in the process of finishing her graduate degree in art, while supporting herself by working part-time for a local arty gallery. Her tiny apartment is located in a crummy section of Chicago, but it is all she can afford. Felicity has been a bookworm since grade school, and as a result, she is on the cusp of landing a job at a top Los Angeles museum upon graduation. Keeping her nose to the grindstone is all she has ever known, that is until she meets Jared Redmond, a very good looking and distinguished attorney. For many years, Jared's life has been all about work, work, and more work. He used to be a little more carefree, until he made his career a top priority. Spending a very platonic night with Felicity causes his long-lost need for companionship to kick in. Felicity becomes his world and he cannot get enough of her. I truly enjoyed this book and the emotional plot is both sweet and sexy. Ms. Smith writes with a lot of passion, and as a result, I felt Felicity and Jared's emotional discoveries deep within my soul. I loved Jared especially, because he was caring, gentle, and a dominant force in the bedroom. This story temporarily took over my stressful world and left me completed sated. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I received an ARC of this book from the author. This did not influence my review, which is fair and honest. LOVED this book! It's hard for me to explain exactly why I loved this book so much, but I will give it a try! There was something about LEGALLY CHARMING that just fulfilled me. Like I didn't even know it, but I needed this book right now, in my life. I laughed, I cried, I sighed a happy sigh at the end. Finding a heroine who was concerned with her future, especially while she was still in school, and worried what might happen when she graduated - totally spoke to me. I felt like I could directly relate to her: starting a relationship when I was close to finishing school, and worried about having to choose between love and my career! And she was so grounded - she had values and morals, and wasn't a heroine who was "done" with men in her early 20s (because seriously??? I never believe those!). And a hero who was kind, thoughtful, and career driven. Someone who wanted to establish himself and make a name for himself, by working hard and achieving his goals - - I admired his strength, determination, and drive. Mix in the fairytale romance, the *SPOILER*, the two of them coming together to make it work, to prove to each other that they could really have it all - together - happy sighs and tears. THIS is what is missing in romance. Believable characters, real-life concerns, and the happy love that we all want to read about. Seriously - LOVED this one. I still think about it, a week after I finished it. I felt like these were people I knew, and a world I wanted to slip away to.

LEGALLY CHARMING 'Legally Charming' by Lauren Smith is book One in the "Ever After" series. This is the story of Felicity Hart and Jared Redmond. I am a big fan of Ms. Smith writing so of course I loved this book! But I truly think you will enjoy it too. Felicity is a hard working student trying to get her Masters in Art and loves history. Jared too is hardworking but he didn't used to be...used to be a party boy. But know due to life lessons he is a workaholic. When Felicity goes to her best friends party she stays the night so she doesn't have to drive back in the dark to an unsafe housing apartment. Felicity is given Jared room since he won't be home but that turns out not to be the case. Jared see Felicity sleeping in his bed and for the first time in a long time is fascinated by something other than work. Both Felicity and Jared have a lot of past issues to overcome...but it was so exciting watching them grow together. Jared was a strong male form that was gentle with Felicity when she needed it. Felicity open a world for Jared that he had turned away from. The secondary characters were great! I so hope to see them with their own stories soon!"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily

3 - "We have all night..." Stars! Lauren Smith is one of my favorite authors, her historical romances are some of the best I have ever read of that genre. Legally Charming is the first in her new Ever After series, and I suppose you would class them as modern day fairy tales, as for me Jared and Felicity’s story had definite leanings towards the Cinderella theme. "You don’t walk away from chemistry we have. When I touch you? It makes my entire body burn. I’ve never felt that way about anybody else…" I would put this story in the easy reading category, in that there was nothing to majorly dislike about it, but for me it wasn’t the best I have read by this author. Everything flowed well, but the drama was minimal, even when I expected more of an impact everything just moved along nicely, and everyone was just… nice. Jared for an alpha male, was incredibly sweet, patient and understanding. Whilst Felicity was naïve, innocent, and a little bit of a martyr at times. "I like you… You made me… feel. It’s been a long time since anyone’s done that. But if you aren’t ready, I’m not going to push you." A predictably sweet, and completely ‘insta’ read in every respect in relation to romance and relationships, the first book in the Ever After series, offered up an uncomplicated and easy to read romance. **This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy of the book.

Life is not always a fairy tale, but it's nice to pretend that it is. Perhaps that's my draw to author Lauren Smith. With all of the harshness life throws out on a daily basis, it's nice to live among the clouds for a little while. Legally Charming is like escaping into a dream. Ms. Smith brought the same brand of enchantment that drives her regency romance into her modern day journey of love. Jared and Felicity are existing but not living. He's a workaholic that's life has become far too real. She's a dreamer at heart, but not willing to take the risk. One night ignites the fantasy, but will the magic wear off when the real world sets in?
