Mr. Chaltas gave me the book and to be honest it is the first book I have really enjoyed reading. I usually start reading something but hardly ever finish it. This one kept my interest.

I was impressed with the book and information the author compiled. The cover is beautiful and worth the price of the book!

The author has captured a Christian man's character by using impressions seen through others' eyes. I learned volumes and now have a new American hero by the name of RELEE...Thanks

I was given this book by a friend. Being an artist, I liked the cover but am not much on history. I soon discovered that the book was not about history as much as it was about the struggles of a Christian man and his family during a terrible time in our Country's history. I was floored and am now hooked! Wow is all I can say...

I just finished reading the book on Lee by this author and found it quite interesting. Some of the trivia was well stated and I like the idea of the documenation of what others who knew Lee thought of him. I plan to recommend it with all my friends.

I received the Legend and Legacy of Lee for Christmas and can't put it down! I found the author's descriptors quite revealing of Lee's character, as told by people who knew the general. As a retired educator, I find Lee's achievement as President of Washington College remarkable. It makes one proud to be an American with such a unique history.

Lee's character came to life, as I read the author's remarks. I found myself wishing to have known the man and wondering if virtue, duty, service to God, and honor are still paramount in our country. Well done! Five star rating!

The book is a true reflection of the author and his portrayal of General Lee. After reading this book, one will come away with a better understanding of General Lee's strong character, moral convictions, and Christian beliefs. This book should be in the library of every American.

Mr. Chaltas is a great historian who brings the history of the time of great saddness to life. He does a marvelous job of brining the true spirit of General Lee to the reader, which is something most authors seem to miss!!!! It is a must read for any fan of the General!! I am so thrilled to own a copy of this book. Also the Painting on the cover of the General is fabulous especially since the artist Marie used Mr. Chaltas as her model!
