Overview

When the dragon Jaax receives word that a human infant has been found in the province of Oescienne, he doesn't dare believe it. Humans have been extinct for centuries, trapped by a terrible curse and left to live out their existence in the form of dragons. Despite his doubts, however, Jaax assumes responsibility for the baby girl only to discover that what he has been seeking for so many years has finally been found . . .

Jahrra knows all about the legends and sagas of Oescienne, but never in her wildest dreams would she believe that she played a part in one of them. She is far too busy dodging the bullies at school and seeking out new adventures with her friends to worry about what secrets her dragon mentor might be keeping from her, or that her every move is being watched by something living in the forest surrounding her home.

But the secrets run deep, and as Jahrra fights to earn her place in this extraordinary world, she will begin to unravel the truth of it all: that she isn't as safe as she thought she was, that danger lurks around every corner, and that her role in this unfurling tale is far more significant than she could possibly imagine.

    Great book.

This book was astoinding. The story ine was well planned and the author used enough detail to allow you to see what the charecters saw. I would deffinatly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a medium length novel, and a very good read.

    I Also Recommend:

    An exiting beginning!

The Finding is the first book in what I hope will be a long series!

I really enjoyed reading it, and I hope everyone who love fantasy will give this book a shot! I recommend it a lot! I read it in a few days, I just had to know what would happen next! I am really exited to see where book two will take Jahrra!

The author has her own webpage where she have lots of information about the world she has created! She even draws her own images, and it really puts color to The World of Ethöes!

There's so much to love about this book! I love how the author acknowledges animals as individuals! I adore dragons, and they play a huge part in this story! The story of Jahrra and her friends will have you eagerly waiting for more!

Do yourself a favor, crawl up with a cup of hot chocolate and this wonderful book!

    Rather tedious

I'm 500 pages in and we're still watching Jahrra grow up. All of this could have been covered in a chapter and what I can only presume to be the actual story could have begun much sooner. So far, a very clean story suitable for children of all ages. The writing and editing are descent, but I'd love to see this author dispense with the needless showing of daily life.

Humans were thought to be extinct. Victims of a curse that turns them into dragons, Jaxx is surprised to find a human infant in the province of Oescienne. Despite his misgivings about her appearance and what this could mean for an ancient prophecy that could break the curse on the humans forever, he assumes responsibility for her. Raised by her mother and her dragon mentor, Jaxx, Jahrra knows all about the legends and sagas of Oescienne. When she gets to school, however, she has a hard time fitting in. Although she makes two friends, she has a hard time dodging bullies. Seeking out adventure with her friends, she's unaware of the fact that she is being followed. As the truth unravels and she discovers her destiny, she realizes there are secrets her mentor has been keeping from her - and she'll have to fight to earn her place in the world. With an ancient prophecy hanging over her head that some people do not want to see come to light, how can one win one's place in the world and dodge the danger lurking around every corner? Will Jahrra discover her role in the prophecy in time to save her world and herself? An intriguing fantasy adventure that takes a while to develop, but is worth the read. The characters are well-created, and the plot is complex and interesting. Readers who like fantasy, mystery, adventure, and dragons will enjoy reading THE FINDING.

    Great read!

Although this book takes you through Jahrras eveyday life and it can be slow at times it was a amazing read. I enjoyed getting to know Jahrra and how she thinks and looks at her world around her. Even tho Jahrra could have grown up in a chapter or two I loved the fact that we as the reader could watch her grow and know what took place in helping her to become the young woman she is destin to be by the end of the series. Thanks for a great book I will be getting the rest of this series.
