Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Thompson
A child's insatiable curiosity for the unknown will be indulged to the fullest in this picture book about UFO's. Beginning with the table of contents the author guides the reader through the common elements of UFO history, identification, and explanation. The text is simple, containing specific dates and events. Young readers will learn that UFO's have been spotted since ancient times, by Egyptians and even Alexander the Great, and how they can be interpreted differently around the planet. They will learn about the more recent UFO crash sight near Roswell, New Mexico. The author talks about identification an authenticity and finished up by listing common explanations for the presence of UFO's. The use of contrasting colors in the illustrations lend an eerie feel and an otherworldly atmosphere to the book. The author includes a short glossary, bibliography, index, and internet sites. This is an ideal introduction to the topic for children and an excellent addition to the "Legend Has It" series. Reviewer: Mary Thompson
