Meet the Author

Journalist and film critic Paolo D'Agostini works for the Italian daily La Repubblica. Over the years he has covered the release of Latin American and Eastern European movies, then focused on Italian cinema. He was president of the National Union of Italian Film Critics, is a member of several Venice Film Festival selection committees, and serves on the commission that chooses the Italian movie for Best Foreign Film consideration at the Oscars, as well as on many other juries. He has taught at the Università La Sapienza, Rome.
