Great for Pittsburghers, past or present!

Legends and Lore of Western Pennsylvania is one of the best books I've read on the myths and legends of Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Mr. White presents many stories which were familiar to me as a native Pittsburgher (and many that weren't) in a clear and concise manner. He also examines each story to explain why these particular stories have been passed down for generations. His knowledge of the subject matter is impressive throughout the book, but his sense of humor and his wit make the book extremely readable.
