I think that the author is very in touch with real life, and this book just amazed me when I read it.The characters are so engrossing that I had trouble putting it down. I can't believe this is getting the reviews it is. I don't know if I received the shortened version or not. on my nook it was 200 pages, on BN it says 999 pages. the first story in the book was an interesting story, but 50 pages into the next story I could not even finish the book. the story seemed to drag on without making any sense. I always finish my books but I just could see taking the time to continue on with this one. sorry.
