    Consistent with the series...

It is a nice "break" from the main storyline and introduces (or re-introduces, depending on how you look at things) additional "what-if" scenarios. A good read.

    A grand thrill

This book is thrilling. It's plot is convoluted to no end. Featuring the secretive Alpha Legion. This book features some of Dan Abnetts best work. The plot twists are incredible and you cannot see around the next bend. This book should be in any Warhammer 40K gamer's library.

    give it time

This book was great. Abnett is one of my favorite authors in the WH40kK universe. The thing that I have found about this series is there is a lot of things going on that lead to the Heresy. I personally like the backstory in how the traitor legions fell from the emperor. In this book It tells the reader about the Alpha Legion and its way of war. It also alludes to the 41st millenium and what may happen. If you read it carefully you may see and wonder if the Alpha Legion actually betrayed the Emperor and Terra. This is an epic tale that has a lot of detail. Readers who want to rush the story along may be missing out on other more compelling things then the Battle of Terra.

    Excellent read

The action in the book is almost outweighed by the underlying suspense put into the plots. At the end of the book they do all come together to form quite an ending well worth reading.
