For those unfamiliar with this long-running DC title, the Legion of Super Heroes is set in a (for the most part) utopian future. One of the many things I find so interesting about this title is that it began as a throwaway backup story. The fan interest was good enough that it eventually grew into a series. The first volume of the Legion archives has many gems, but the Legion universe was not quite developed. With this second volume, the series first hit it's stride. Regular artist John Forte had previously done illustrations for the pulps, and he brings a classic sci-fi look to the Legion.
