Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ramirose I. Attebury
This sweet story would make an excellent choice for a Spanish-language story time. Finally Eric is old enough to accompany his dad and older sister, Amy, to their job in the mechanic's garage. Eric is confident that he is sufficiently big enough to help with a variety of projects. When his dad discovers that he must go searching for his lost wrench, it falls to Amy to show her brother around. Unfortunately, Eric's attempt to change a tire results in a barrage of tires lurching around the store. Fixing a stuck windshield wiper causes the young boy to launch into the air as if from a catapult as he grabs on to the wiper blade at the wrong time. When he tries to fill a motorcycle tire with air, the hose gets away from him and soon an entire shelf of oil has spilled all over the floor. Taking Eric outside to work, Amy asks her brother just to wash a garbage truck. The water hose proves a bit too much for Eric, too, and soon the entire garage is cleaning up a flood. Just when it seems Eric will be hopelessly discouraged from helping again, he sees his dad's missing wrench. He is just small enough to squeeze under a table to retrieve it, ensuring a happy ending to a well-written story. Computer-generated illustrations show a variety of action-oriented scenes being carried out by Lego shop workers, all set against the background of Lego City. Reviewer: Ramirose I. Attebury
