Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Lego characters are the stars of this early reader which recounts a rescue adventure. Sailors are working hard to unload the cargo from their ship which has docked in Lego City harbor. The harbor is a busy place with other ships, scuba divers and a windsurfer. Unfortunately, the windsurfer does not realize that he is headed into danger. There are rocks ahead and the windsurfer is headed straight for them. An alert sailor tells the captain and they decide to launch a zodiac to either warn off the windsurfer or rescue him. They are successful and the story has a happy ending with the windsurfer acknowledging that next time he will stay clear of the rocks. There is a little tension in the story and a minor bit of advice, and the major appeal will probably be to kids who love Legos. A Level 1 book in the "Scholastic Reader" series with a Lexile of 260 and a word count of 160. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
