Meet the Author

Hi, I'm Nick Taylor, I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, possibly the greatest place on earth. I went to Dakota Ridge High and was in band-- that's right I was a band nerd and no, I don't have any cool "one time at band camp" stories, so don't ask.

I started writing in October of 2007. I was driving around with a friend and said "hey, I wonder if I can write a book." So I thought I'd try and write outline and see what happens. Well, I finished the outline and I couldn't just stop there. I needed to write chapter one and then that would be it. Do you see where this is going? Anyway, after chapter one was done, I had to finish the first book. But I wanted to get input as I went in order to write a better story. I decided to do a podcast of the first three chapters to see what people thought. After the first podcast, I decided that I wanted to continue to do it and more over, I wanted to get a larger listener base. It's all been a wonderful journey from there.

Gret story...cant wait for part 3

This series couldv ebeen finished in this book. Although i have enjoyed it, the book wa sfilled with useless mundane details that did nothing to keep the story going. At some points it wa slike taking a break from the real story and reading something like a soap opera. I presume thatthe author include dthese details to add depth to his characters. I suggest that he find another method. And at some points the characters personalities were all the same kind of quirky; kind of like they melded together. Sasha and Legon were nothing like the humble kids they wer ein the first book. I know a lot change dfor them but they seem almost haughty. Arkin is different too.

That being said, i still loved both books. If you are a true reader of the genre you will enjoy the Legon series. The characters, while indistinct at times all have distinctive roles and are introduced properly (can't wait to see Rachel turn up again). And the story is just wonderful! If you are reading review to make ur decision, here it is: READ THIS BOOK!!

    Lol

I find this incredibly funny. Not the book mind you, I haven't started the series yet, but rather this review. Titled "Legen", the exact post was "Great book but there where a lot of misspeled words". For one, the word missspelled is missspelled, and the word where doesn't even begin to belong to this sentence. The word you were looking for was were, not where as in where did my virginity go. Just thought I would correct that :]

    Wonderful story!

Great story..I love how he moves around with all the characters points of view! I hope we don't have to wait long for book 3. To the post "Gret Book" before you decide to speak badly of the story (even though you gave it 4 stars) at least try to type the review so that it is readable it is actually worse than some of the grammatical errors in the book!

    Great second book

I really enjoyed this booj. The author did a wonderful job adding to this story. My only complaint is the editing for the digital version of this book. As with the first book the grammar and spelling was aweful and it took away from the read at times.

    more from this reviewer

    NEEDS EDITING!!!!

I thought that Awakening was good, Ascension is even better. It has a great plot, uses fantastic imagery, and tells a fascinating story. That said, the occasional grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors in first book (that happen with most self-published books), skyrocketed in the sequel. I'm not sure if these errors appeared in only the e-book version or if they were also in the paperback. The most annoying was that of "Elves," where I believe a "replace all" option was used to capitalize "Elves" but also caused mistakes like "themsElves" and other words containing the letters "Elves." It's sad that these errors are that annoying in such an otherwise well-written book. I'd even offer to edit these books if only to stop this tragedy!
