The book is basically a book of photographs. Each page compares an site with a picture taken more than 50 years ago with a picture of the same site taken in the present day. The author has taken care to take the photo from the same perspective as the original. There is a broad base of photos ranging from houses, factories and other sites throughout the county. Reading the book has given me a new perspective of the county. Driving around the county I have become more aware of interesting sites of historical significance. The book is well done. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in history.

Overview
Lehigh County has transformed throughout the years and now is a far cry from its rural identity only 50 years ago. Today Lehigh County is known as an important link to the metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia.
