My wife and I are avid collectors of movies (over 1500 on Blu-ray and DVD), and this book is an excellent guide to the classic movies written by what I consider to be the best reviewer of movies I have encountered. When I purchase movies I have never seen, I check the guide to see the review and ratings, and just about every movie Mr. Maltin rates 3 stars or better have been a keeper. If you are an avid fan of classic movies, this guide is essential to watching and purchasing the best of the classic movies. There are no substitutes.
