On 2009's aptly named Transition, R&B producer, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and Harvard graduate Ryan Leslie offered up "a collection of songs inspired by a summer of secret love" that effortlessly detailed the highs and lows of a new relationship, and presented them in real time. Written and produced by Leslie, Les Is More, the 2012 follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Transition, switches things up a bit by planting its feet firmly in the rap world, allowing room for high-profile guests like Kanye West and Fabolous, the latter of whom lends his talents to a remix of the album's first single, "Beautiful Lie.,"

Another slam dunk for R-Les!! Already a quadrupal threat (sings/writes/produces/plays), he's now added rapping to his repertoire. This one is definitely worth purchasing! My personal favorites: Glory (#1), 5 Minute Freshen Up (#4), Dress You To Undress You (#5), Swiss Francs (#7), Ups & Downs (#8 & #9), Ready Or Not (#10), The Black Flag (#12), Joan Of Arc (#13), and Beautiful Lie (#14). There's not a track that I just can't or won't listen to - these are just the ones I listen to all the time. Supremely under-rated artist...to complex for mainstream to even fathom...
